Wilderness Survival: Applied Edgecraft & Toolmaking – Saturday, June 13 at 10am

In this hands-on workshop led by Mike Evans, participants will learn safe and effective knife handling techniques, practice-controlled carving methods, and explore how early peoples used simple edges to create the tools that made life possible.

Through guided instruction and practical projects, you’ll learn to maintain and sharpen your blade, apply it with confidence to carve functional items such as pegs, hooks, and pot hangers, and even experiment with crafting basic tools from natural materials to extend your knife’s usefulness. The focus is on precision, conservation, and creativity — learning to accomplish more with less through mindful craftsmanship. This workshop is accessible to all experience levels.

Last summer, we welcomed a herd of goats to combat the invasive species that were destroying our forests. They spent the winter at their upstate home with Green Goats Rhinebeck, and now they’re ready to come back to us.

On Saturday, June 13 at 10:30am, 4 goats will return to the Preserve to finish the job they started. Join us for some kid-friendly crafts and activities as we welcome back our beloved Goatbusters!

Event is free with admission to the park.
$15 parking fee applies to non-members.
No advance registration is required.

Pack a picnic or enjoy our food truck, peruse the vendor village, and then sit back and enjoy the incredible musical stylings of Shakedown Citi. It’s not just a tribute band – it’s the Dead, reborn.

Concert is rain or shine and will move indoors in the event of inclement weather.

Tuesday, June 30, 6 – 8:30 PM
Advance Tickets: $35 per car
Day of Concert: $50 per car
