Chief Meteorologist Stefanie Lauber shows the extent of river flooding expected from Three Rivers, down to George West, and near Lake Corpus Christi. She's got more on the Nueces River and our how hot Friday will be in your neighborhood in tonight's forecast. 🔗👇

07/28/2026

Significant river flooding continues across South Texas as runoff from the Hill Country flooding nearly two weeks ago keeps moving downstream.

The Nueces River near Three Rivers is forecast to rise from just over 6 feet this morning to around 40.3 feet by Friday evening, reaching major flood stage and potentially matching the historic July 2002 crest.

Floodwaters could spread miles from the main channel, inundate homes and subdivisions, and cut off several roads. Those living near the Nueces River from Three Rivers toward Lake Corpus Christi should closely monitor conditions and be prepared to act.

Turn around, don’t drown. Never drive around barricades or through flooded roadways.
