⭐️ Spartan Summer Spotlight! ⭐️

Nicholas (1st) made the most of his summer with adventures near and far! From exploring the Palm Springs Air Museum and cooling off at Raging Waters to showing off his skills at Topgolf, his summer was packed with fun. He also enjoyed a beautiful getaway to Punta de Mita, Mexico! 🌴🌊✈️

Charlotte (4th) made some unforgettable summer memories at Walt Disney World! ✨🏰 She spent the day exploring Disney Springs, taking in all the sights, shopping, and enjoying some delicious treats before cooling off with a splash-filled adventure at Typhoon Lagoon! 🌊☀️

⭐ Spartan Summer Spotlight! ⭐

Andrew (5th) had an action-packed summer filled with adventure, friendship, and giving back! 💙🤍

He enjoyed a magical day at Disneyland, visited Universal Studios with friends, celebrated the 4th of July, spent time with his Cub Scout friends, and gave back to the community by participating in a beach cleanup! 🌊🧹

What a summer full of fun, memorable experiences, and opportunities to make a difference! We love seeing our Spartans making the most of their summer! 💙🤍

🌟 Spartan Summer Spotlight! 🌟

This summer, Luna (3rd) got to turn a special invitation into the ultimate animation-themed adventure! 🎬✨

She was invited to visit Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, California, so they decided to make a mini animation-themed vacation out of it! Their first stop was the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center, celebrating the beloved world of Snoopy and Peanuts. 🐶💛

The next day, they headed to Pixar Animation Studios for a private tour of the entire campus! They got to see the Hoppers exhibit, the Cars exhibit, and even some behind-the-scenes production of Pixar’s upcoming film Gatto. 🎥🚗✨

And Luna has one more summer highlight to share… she welcomed a new furry friend into the family! 🐰🤍 Meet Snowball, her new pet bunny! 🥹

From animation magic to a brand-new bunny, it was definitely a summer to remember! ⭐️

Today, we were honored to welcome back one of our former principals, Sr. Sharon Dempsey, who served our school from 2006–2017, along with her four-legged companion, Scamper. 🐾

Sr. Sharon and Scamper toured our campus with Dr. Montejano, visiting classrooms, reconnecting with familiar spaces, and meeting our current Spartans. It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome back someone whose years of service helped shape our school community.

During her time at Mission, Sr. Sharon was also instrumental in supporting our school through fundraising efforts, including helping make possible the groundbreaking of our current TK/Kindergarten play yard. A plaque on the playground serves as a lasting reminder of her dedication and the impact she made on our campus.

We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome Sr. Sharon and Scamper back to Mission and celebrate the lasting legacy of those who have helped make our school what it is today. 💙🤍

This summer, we’re shining the spotlight on Cameron (7th), who participated in the Onward2HighSchool Summer Institute 2026 at the Cathedral site! 🌎🚀

Cameron joined more than 500 students from over 100 schools across Los Angeles for an incredible summer of hands-on STEAM projects, field trips, teamwork, and innovation as they explored Land, Sky & Sea and built skills for the future. 🔬🌊✨

We’re proud of Cameron for taking advantage of this amazing opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with students from across the community! 💙🤍

🎉 Welcome Back, Spartans! 💙🤍

The halls of San Gabriel Mission Elementary are full of energy once again as we officially kicked off the 2026–2027 school year! 📚✨ We were thrilled to welcome back our returning students, our newest Spartans, and our newest faculty and staff members.

During our school blessing, Fr. Paschal prayed over our SGMES community and helped us begin this new year with faith, hope, and excitement. 🙏💙 We were especially grateful to welcome the students who began their SGMES journey today—we’re so happy you’re part of our Spartan family!

We wrapped up our celebration with our Student Council President welcoming the entire student body to a brand-new year. 🎤👏

San Gabriel Mission was proud to host an inspiring STEM training for the ADLA STEM Network, provided by PEMA Math! Our educators came together to learn, collaborate, and share ideas that will bring engaging STEM experiences to our students this school year. 🚀
