Right before Memorial Day weekend, we came together to celebrate MISSION DAY β€” a special tradition that highlights the faith, spirit, and community that make SGMES such a special place! πŸ’™πŸŽ‰

We began the day with a beautiful prayer service led by our 3rd grade students, prepared by Mrs. Hernandez, helping us reflect on our mission and blessings as a school community. βœοΈπŸ™

Our 8th graders were then recognized as they prepare for their next chapter. They enjoyed a special slideshow presentation, received commemorative goody bags, and shared a memorable photo opportunity with their siblings. πŸŽ“πŸ’™

During the program, Dr. Barillas announced faculty and staff departures for the coming school year. We thank Mrs. Bote and Mrs. Hernandez for their service to the SGMES community and wish them all the best in their next chapters. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Munoz as she begins her well-earned retirement. ❀️

The day was also an opportunity to say farewell to Dr. Barillas, thanking her for her leadership and dedication to SGMES over the past three years. Our parent volunteer committee lead, Student Council president, and a faculty representative each shared heartfelt words of appreciation, reflecting on the positive impact she has had on our school community. πŸ’™

✨SGMES Athletic Banquet 2026✨

After all of our sports teams concluded their seasons, we held our annual Athletic Banquet in the Parish Center. It was a great turnout with over 120 attendees celebrating another successful year of Spartan athletics.

Coaches had the opportunity to recap their seasons and recognize the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of their athletes. Each athlete received a participation certificate, and our Scholar Athletes were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements in the classroom and in competition.

Keep playing hard and proudly representing the SGMES Spartans!

A huge thank you to our volunteer committee for all of their planning, preparation, and setup that helped make the evening such a success. Thank you also to Mr. Miguel for providing delicious food as always, and to Father Paschal for his continued support of our student-athletes and athletic program.

Go Spartans! πŸ’™πŸ€
