It was a honor (and surprise!) to receive an award at the San Diego Food Bank Non-Profit Partner Appreciation Luncheon! Environmental care is an important aspect of the GSMC. The Shepherd's Pantry was recognized for its resourcefulness in the operation of its "Living Earth Project," a program that creates both solid and liquid compost from the pantry's rotting produce.

Thank you to the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club for your generous $10,000 grant to complete our citrus grove! Oranges, lemons, and limes grown here will be shared with our neighbors at the Shepherd's Pantry.

Collaboration at its finest! Doug Bogart and Susan Naslund made their third (and final) trip in the van to the Imperial Beach Neighborhood Center to pick up a huge donation of food for the Shepherd's Pantry. What IBNC could not use in their feeding program, we will pass along to our neighbors. There is enough for everyone! Thank you for sharing the abundance, John Jigen Griffin-Atil!

Just like mom used to make! In honor of Mother's Day, a food drive at our sister campus, Foothills United Methodist Church, provided us with a cart full of baking items to distribute in the Shepherd's Pantry! Chocolate chip cookies? Cake? Brownies? What is the favorite sweet your mother made for you?
