San Diego Ethiopian Community

San Diego Ethiopian Community is a non-profit organization established to provide support services to Ethiopian immigrants in the sunny San Diego area.

We are building our capacity to help Ethiopian immigrants get support services: shelters, employment, counseling, translation of important documents, support with travel documents, interpreting services for those with limited English, and counseled with health, legal and immigration issues. SDEC also understands that during unexpected emergencies and accidents that result in the death of a community member, a more organized community can have the organizational means to respond in a timely manner. In addition, SDEC promotes social and cultural awareness and active citizenship by organizing social gatherings and community celebrations that bring together Ethiopians living in San Diego and surrounding cities.
