🎵 Like, totally! It's time to dust off the taffeta, tease up your hair, and relive your glory days. 🎵

Remember when the biggest decision of the year was who to take to prom? Well, guess what? Prom is back!

Whether you were the Prom Queen, class clown, head cheerleader, or the kid with the rad fashion choices, the Reach for the Stars: 80s Prom Night Gala is your chance for a totally tubular do-over. Break out the ruffles, sequins, shoulder pads, bolo ties, and big hair because we're turning back the clock to the decade of mixtapes, neon, and unforgettable prom memories.

Join us on October 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Irene M. Hunt School | J.E.T. Gym in San Anselmo for a choice evening of music, dancing, nostalgia, and community spirit. Presented by Freestone Capital Management and benefiting Side by Side, this epic night will help support Bay Area youth and family members while giving us all a chance to party like it's 1986.

On behalf of the transition-age foster youth we serve in Alameda County, we extend our heartfelt thanks to The Eucalyptus Foundation for its generous $15,000 grant supporting Side by Side’s Real Alternatives transitional housing program. This investment helps provide safe housing and comprehensive wraparound services that empower young people to navigate the path to independent adulthood and build thriving futures.

Your prom ticket helps provide critical behavioral and mental health services to nearly 3,100 youth and family members across Alameda, Marin, Napa, and Sonoma Counties through Side by Side's life-changing programs.

Dance to iconic hits, strike a pose worthy of MTV, moonwalk across the dance floor, and compete for prom night bragging rights as we celebrate the power of community and the promise of every young person we serve.

Today, on International Friendship Day, we're celebrating the connections that help young people feel seen, supported, and valued.
Friendship can provide comfort during difficult times, build confidence, and remind us that no one has to navigate life's challenges alone. Every day at Side by Side, we see the impact that caring relationships have on the youth and families we serve.

We were honored to join fellow grantees at Marin Community Foundation's Community Power Initiative celebrating the power of community-centered partnership.
Through the Community Power Initiative, Marin Community Foundation launched a three-year, $30 million investment to explore a new model of nonprofit support. One that provides flexible, multi-year funding, reduces administrative burden, and empowers organizations to focus on the critical work of serving their communities. Side by Side is proud to be among the 73 organizations and 9 collaboratives selected for this initiative.
What makes this cohort so inspiring is its diversity. From long-established nonprofits to emerging grassroots organizations, representing communities across Marin and a wide range of issue areas. What unites us is a shared commitment to advancing equity and supporting those facing the greatest challenges.
The Community Power Initiative reflects a belief that lasting change happens when nonprofits are trusted, supported, and given the flexibility to lead.
We are deeply grateful to Marin Community Foundation for its investment in Side by Side through a three-year, $300,000 grant.
