REACH is a grassroots faith based organization addressing multiple and complex needs regarding substance abuse in eastern KY by collaborating with local community partners. We offer assistance to families with substance use disorder through prayer, intervention, referral to treatment, entry fees, transportation, aftercare, youth prevention education, awareness and special events. dict with Christ’s Help is a Faith-Based non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce substance abuse among youth and adults in Magoffin and surrounding counties. The history of the local REACH Organization began in April 2001. The Magoffin County Coroner had reported a total of thirty-five substance abuse related deaths. A large group of citizens from every sector in the community held a county wide meeting at the Magoffin County High School to see what could be done about the terrible drug epidemic. Law Enforcement, school personnel, elected officials, civic organizations churches and many other citizens were present. As a result of this meeting the local Faith-Based REACH organization was formed. REACH became a 501-C-3 in 2003.
