We at Magoffin County Farm Bureau are so very proud of these 2 MCHS students for participating in the KFB District 10 Outstanding Youth Contest held in Boyd Co on Tuesday, Oct 7th. Tiffany Hoskins competed in the Speech/Interview competition and Luke Wireman sang/played guitar in the Variety portion. I say this every single time but I’m telling you the competition gets tougher each year!! These 2 students did excellent in their categories and Luke finished 1st runner up!! Congratulations to all the winners, District 10 is loaded with intelligent and talented kids.

Ms. Cathryn Allen just spent a week at the IFAL institute. She was selected to represent Magoffin Co out of hundreds of candidates statewide vying to represent their county. Congratulations Cathryn!!! We’re so proud of you.

It’s MCFB Scholarship time again. If you’re a Senior or have a Senior graduating this year and you’re a KFB member you can apply for our County Scholarship. We have copies at the office or you can get them from your Google classroom, made available through Mrs. Sara Beth Howard.

A huge Congratulations to Cathryn Allen on being chosen for IFAL!! She will spend a week this summer learning skills to become a strong leader among her peers. Each year there are 100’s of applicants but only a handful are chosen for this prestigious honor.

Cathryn Allen has been selected to participate in the Institute for Future Ag Leaders (IFAL) Program. IFAL is a five-day summer leadership conference at the University of Kentucky that exposes students to college life and explores different fields of study and careers in agriculture. Congratulations, Cathryn!

On Wednesday March 20th Mag Co Farm Bureau took Maggie the Milk cow to all 3 elementary schools to help educate local 3rd and 4th grade students the importance and hard work of our Dairy farmers. Students from MCHS FFA Chapter read “Tales of a Fairy Godmother” and the kids were allowed the opportunity to “milk” Maggie. National AG Week was March 17th thru March 21st and is designed to promote agriculture across our state.
