Amazing community history event today at the mouth of Chamber’s Hollow in Salem. The Charlotte County Militia Living History Group had an Encampment at their former Commander’s home; Lieutenant Colonel Joseph McCracken. Colonel McCracken was a Rogers’ Ranger, Continental Army Major, Militia Colonel and NY State Assemblymen. During his life he worked with General George Washington, General Van Steuben, Major General Stark, General Schuyler, Colonel Ethan Allen and was close personal friend of Colonel John Williams of Salem. A real hero of the French and Indian War, The Revolutionary War and a champion for the Salem Community.

Many thanks to Woody Hill Farm, Jim & Karen Sheldon, The Town of Salem, Sue Clary, Al Cormier, Tom McMorris, The Charlotte County Militia, David Wren, Mike & Mary Skelly.
