Happy Wednesday!

Washington County 4-H enrollment for the 2026–2027 year is officially OPEN!

Enrollment Fees:
- Mini 4-H (Grades K–2): FREE
- 4-H (Grades 3–12): $25

Great news! The Washington County 4-H Council is covering the enrollment fee for at least the first 100 4-H members in grades 3–12 this year! We encourage families to enroll early to take advantage of this opportunity.

You will still need to enter a credit card to complete the enrollment process. If your child is among the first 100 eligible members, we will apply a coupon code before approving their enrollment to cover the $25 fee.

Thanksgiving Cheese Ball Orders Are OPEN!

The Washington County 4-H Jr. Leaders are getting ready for Thanksgiving, and they're taking orders for their delicious cheese balls!

Whether you're hosting Thanksgiving dinner, heading to a family gathering, or just want a little something extra for your holiday table, we've got you covered!

* Order Deadline: November 16 by 4:00 PM *

Pick-Up Date: Monday, November 23

Pick-Up Time: 5:00–7:00 PM

To Place Your Order: Call the Extension Office at 812-883-4601. Each cheese ball costs $8 and you may choose plain, parsley, or pecan.

Just a reminder that our 4-H Volunteer Trainings are coming up in November!

We have five different training locations available throughout the Southern Region, and volunteers are welcome to attend whichever one works best for their schedule!

We really encourage ALL 4-H volunteers to attend at least one session. This is a great opportunity to get your required training and enrollment completed, hear about updates for the upcoming 4-H year and enjoy some FREE food!

All trainings begin at 6 PM.

November 5 – Clark County Food Stand (Fairgrounds)

November 10 – Orange County Community Center

Reminder to Washington County 4-H families: If you have not received your premium check, please stop by the Purdue Extension Office to pick it up as soon as possible. Due to significant mail delays, we will not be mailing any additional checks.

All premium checks must be cashed at First Merchants Bank by Friday, November 6, 2026.

The Washington County Jr. Leaders are collecting shelf-stable food items to assemble meal kits for donation to the local food bank. Needed items include pasta, pasta sauce, canned chicken, cornbread mix, and canned vegetables. Donations can be dropped off at the Purdue Extension Annual Meeting on Monday evening, October 19, or delivered to the Washington County Extension Office. Thank you for helping the Jr. Leaders support our local community!
