MAASU Fall Leadership Summit 2015

Midwest Asian American Student Union Leadership Summit is a conference between 20+ affiliated schools in an effort to promote leadership, unity and networking as well as tackling issues within the Asian and Pacific Islander American community. With the growing number of Asian Americans in colleges and universities, MAASU LS offers an opportunity for those students to learn from experienced leaders

in the APIA community as well as see and explore the hosting school. The event itself will host 300 students from various Midwest universities who will visit Purdue for the day long conference. They will first be placed in small groups, giving them the opportunity to network and meet people on a more personal level as they go through the day. From there, they will break off and attend workshops and learn from respected individuals and leaders within the APIA community with topics ranging from common leadership subjects to more sensitive issues such as LGBTQ. There will also be a break between workshop times for the students to reconvene with their small groups to get lunch and explore the Purdue campus as well. This exciting day comes to an end with a final banquet where attendees can relax, eat and watch local entertainment as well as entertainers brought in by us. With the growing presence of Asian Americans in the workforce and college campuses, MAASU LS is truly a great conference for young APIA professionals to grow and learn together, especially at such a diverse school as Purdue.
