⚠️ SENIOR CONNECTIONS BRUNCH CANCELED TODAY ⚠️

Due to the excessive heat warning and dangerously high temperatures expected today and tomorrow, with heat indexes anticipated to reach over 100 degrees, we have made the decision to cancel today’s Senior Connections Brunch.

The safety and well-being of our seniors and community members will always come first. 🩡 We strongly encourage everyone to stay indoors, stay cool, drink plenty of water, and avoid unnecessary outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day.

Please check on your elderly family members, neighbors, and loved ones during this extreme heat. A simple phone call or quick check-in can make all the difference. πŸ™πŸ½

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and stay cool! We look forward to seeing everyone again soon. β˜€οΈπŸ§ŠπŸ’§

πŸ“šπŸ΄ A morning of books, smiles, and community! ❀️

Today I had the pleasure of teaming up with Officers Wentz and Maxwell of the Salem City Police Department to bring their incredible partner, Star, to visit the SCA/OVA Books & Breakfast Summer Camp!

The kids were surprised with a special visit from Star as a reward for their hard work and as encouragement to keep reading all summer long. Seeing their excitement, curiosity, and smiles reminded us why programs like this matter. When a community comes together to invest in its children, everyone wins.

A huge thank you to Officers Wentz and Maxwell for taking the time to make this experience so memorable, and to everyone who continues to support opportunities that inspire our youth to learn, grow, and dream big.

Keep turning those pages, kidsβ€”the adventure is just beginning! πŸ“–βœ¨
