Lego Camp last week was so great! The campers showed off their amazing creativity, enjoyed lego challenges, lego kits, free play, and our all time favorite- the LEGO board game. Every day we started off with a snack and brainstormed what it means to be made in God’s image- our Creator!

Cooking Camp Day 3! Eating plants: Veggies.

Always a highlight and favorite of the campers- Ratatouille. While using safe knife skills and “spider fingers” the kids chopped vegetables with the music of “ratatouille” in the background. We played a scavenger hunt in the garden looking for specific plant foods, and we used our creativity to design art with nutella, peanut butter, cream cheese, and fruits and vegetables- followed by eating our art. It was an afternoon of lots of nutritious food. A day of “tasting and seeing that the Lord is good “! Oh, and watermelon during our last break! We have loved spending this time with these amazing kids!

Fun with Food Camp! Day One of “Eating Plants”. “Taste and see that the Lord is good” Psalm 34:8
One way God shows his goodness to us is by giving us so much variety in his creation. Today we learned about seeds, their nutritional value, and matched seeds with mature plants through a riddle bingo combo game. In our cooking session we made amazing Super Seed Balls! Yum and so good for our bodies! 💪🏼

Day 4 Nature Exploration Camp- Compost!!

Today we had a visit by “magician” Bill who gave a fun show about recycling. In our other two sessions we read “Compost Stew,” matched items on a decomposition timeline to show how long it takes for different things to breakdown, and created our own compost cans then added decomposers from some garden compost! The campers loved finding the worms, centipedes, and other critters!!

What a special week of interactive learning- 🎵 reduce, reuse, recycle and compost today. It’s God’s beautiful world! Let’s keep it that way!!! 🌎

Day Two of Nature Exploration Camp! Reuse was the word for the day. Rather than increasing our trash, we find ways to repurpose items. We made take home verse creative designs using our homemade paper from yesterday. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it” Psalm 24:1. We used jars and attached sticks picked up from the ground to assemble these beautiful vases to hold flowers from the garden. Sharing with those we love at home!

Nature Exploration Camp!
Day One of our theme “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Compost”
Caring for the beautiful world God created helps us also care for one another!
Campers learned about the importance of and ways to reduce how much trash we produce. We played a Zero Impact board game and made homemade paper with scraps!
