We are incredibly saddened to hear the news of the passing of Dolly Parton. She will forever be missed. Our CEO Jennifer Jenkins said, “Dolly Parton understood something profoundly simple: when you put a great book into a child’s hands, you open a door to possibility. Through the Imagination Library, she has put millions of those doors within reach of children and families around the world. Her generosity, vision, and belief in the power of a child and a book will continue to shape generations. We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind, and we’re excited and honored to continue her work with the Dollywood Foundation in serving the children of Utah.”

Operation Literacy is asking Utahns to honor Dolly Parton the way she would have wanted: by helping put books into the hands of Utah children. Families, educators, and community members can sign the Raising Utah Readers petition to show legislators that Utah families value early literacy and want the Imagination Library available in every county. Check the comments to sign the petition.
