Our team is warming up for the Operation Literacy Invitational happening in November! This fundraiser is a chance to raise the critical funds needed to support children’s literacy. Literacy creates freedom and we feel honored everyday to help give children that opportunity!

Last week was an amazing week! We were able to visit 11 schools with 5 different amazing authors, and hold 21 assemblies for kids from grades K-6. AND, we got to give away 6,269 FREE books to children! There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s face light up as they get a free book! This is all made possible to those amazing people who have donated to our Book Drop Program. Let’s keep giving children the opportunity to read!

Project SEEL—Systematic and Engaging Early Literacy—offers a FREE website with hundreds of early literacy lesson plans for teachers and parents. Each lesson combines intense focus skills critical for early reading with hands-on, play-based activities that help children remember, repeat, and learn.

We are so grateful to partner with Project SEEL as we both work to improve children’s literacy!

There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.” — Walt Disney

Literacy goes beyond the ability to read. It is the foundation for creativity, who we can become, and what we believe is possible for ourselves.

Through lessons learned, new worlds explored, and increased confidence, literacy is not just a one-time practice. It is one of the single greatest investments we can make in our future. But too many children don’t have that opportunity.

Providing books, classes, and opportunities can change a child’s life. Let’s give children a brighter future through the doors literacy unlocks.
