Today, we would like to recognize Brother D’Angelo Palmer (6-25-IBB) for his dedication and service to the Charleston community. Brother Palmer has proudly served with the Charleston Police Department for over 20 years. His many years of service reflect a strong dedication to protecting and uplifting the community.

Brother Palmer always takes care of those closes around him and understands the importance of being present, providing guidance, and setting a positive example for those closest to him.

We salute Brother D’Angelo Palmer for more than two decades of service and thank him for his continued commitment to the Charleston community.

”IconiQ” Iota Beta Beta is proud to highlight Chapter Brother Colonel Shawn Sumter (1-25-IBB).

A native of West Ashley, South Carolina, and a graduate of Southern University, Brother Sumter has dedicated more than 20 years of honorable service to the United States Army. Throughout his distinguished military career, he served in Iraq, where he developed training programs and assisted Iraqi Army officers in planning both offensive and defensive military operations. He also served as the Director of the Department of Instruction, helping shape and mentor future military leaders.

Through every assignment and challenge, Brother Sumter has demonstrated unwavering perseverance, faithfully serving his country while remaining a devoted father and leader. His commitment to service, sacrifice, and excellence embodies everything the fraternity stands for.

We sincerely thank Brother Colonel Shawn Sumter for his dedication, leadership, and the lasting impact he has made both in uniform and in the community. Your service and example continue to inspire us all.

During the 85th Grand Conclave, Brother Mayrant was honored for 60 years of dedicated service to Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., receiving his 60-Year pin. His remarkable legacy of brotherhood and service was recognized before the fraternity, and he shared words of wisdom with both former Grand Basileus Ricky L. Lewis and newly elected Grand Basileus Mark E. Jackson.

This Tenacious Tuesday, ”IconiQ” Iota Beta Beta is proud to recognize Brother Dr. Rashawn Frost (7-04-Pi Beta), whose life exemplifies the Cardinal Principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.

Scholarship has been a defining characteristic of Brother Frost’s journey. He earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Education (MEd) from Auburn University, followed by a Master of Divinity (MDiv) in Leadership from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Continuing his commitment to lifelong learning, he earned his Ph.D. in Public Theology in 2023.

As a former Division I student-athlete at Auburn University, Brother Frost understands the value of Perseverance. His dedication, discipline, and resilience on and off the field laid the foundation for a life of service, leadership, and excellence.

Brother Frost has embodied Uplift by faithfully serving as a minister, coach, teacher, and mentor. Through his leadership, he has impacted countless collegiate and high school athletes, helping guide them not only toward athletic success but also toward becoming leaders in their professions and communities.

Today, we are honored to celebrate a brother whose commitment to faith, education, and service continues to inspire everyone around him.

This week ”IconiQ” Iota Beta Beta Portcityques.com Epsilon Nu Nu (ENN) gathered together to send several young men from the Charleston community to the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Sixth District Boys Camp.

We are proud to invest in the next generation by providing experiences that inspire these young men to grow into leaders within their families, schools, and communities. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this experience has on each of them.

This Manhood Monday, is proud to highlight Chapter Brother Tony Martin (3-23-ZY).

Brother Martin is a devoted minister, loving husband, and dedicated father who exemplifies leadership both within his family and throughout the community. Since arriving in Charleston, he has made a lasting impact by uplifting those around him, offering guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support to anyone in need.

Whether through his faith, mentorship, or genuine compassion for others, Brother Martin consistently leads by example. His humility, integrity, and commitment to serving others embody the true spirit of manhood. We are grateful for the positive influence he continues to have on our chapter and the Charleston community

A Charleston native and successful business owner, Brother Busby operates his custom embroidery and Greek apparel business at 5117 Dorchester Road, Suite D, North Charleston, SC 29418. Through his craftsmanship, he provides high-quality custom embroidery and Greek merchandise to the community.

Beyond entrepreneurship, Brother Busby is dedicated to making a lasting impact by uplifting others, mentoring those he encounters, and investing in the community. His commitment to service and leadership reflects the true spirit of Manhood Monday.

This Manhood Monday, is proud to highlight Brother Mel Capers (1-21-IBB).

A Citadel graduate and Charleston-area native, Brother Capers serves as a Nurse Manager (RN) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Through his leadership and dedication, he serves as a vital bridge between residents and the healthcare system, helping improve the overall health and well-being of the community beyond the walls of the hospital.

Brother Capers is a true example of what it means to embody the spirit of “8 vs. 80,” demonstrating leadership, service, and impact across generations.
