🚨 WE COULD REALLY USE SOME HELP RIGHT NOW. 🚨

We want to be completely transparent about where Ark Rescue is right now.

We are in the middle of a major transition, and unfortunately that transition has brought some unexpected expenses with it. Add in this relentless Florida heat, and our current electric bill is $963.

At the same time, feed and hay still have to be bought.

Our last donation post raised $50, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and shared. But the reality is that right now, we need more help.

Without additional donations, we are getting very close to having to decide which gets paid first — the $963 electric bill or feed and hay.

It is all hands on deck around here. Jarred and Ches are helping, and all of us are working hard every single day to keep Ark Rescue running through this transition and this brutal Florida heat.

The heat is taking its toll. A few days ago, I ended up in the hospital with heat exhaustion after pushing myself too hard trying to keep up. But the work doesn’t stop — and neither will we.

The animals still need to be fed. Water still needs to be filled. Pens still need to be cleaned. Medications still need to be given. Their needs come first every single day.

Our animals are safe, fed, loved and cared for. That is not changing.

What we’re facing right now is a temporary financial squeeze created by a major transition, unexpected expenses and an unusually high electric bill — not a lack of commitment or ability to care for our animals.

We know where we’re going. We’re putting in the work to get there, and we WILL get Ark Rescue where it needs to be.

We just need some help getting over this hump.

If you can spare $5, $10, $20 or anything at all, every dollar helps us put this transition behind us without taking resources away from the animals.

🚨 ARK RESCUE NEEDS HELP NOW. 🚨

I’m going to be very direct — we need donations, and we need them now.

The relentless Florida heat has sent our electric bill through the roof. Keeping fans, air conditioning, pumps, and everything else running isn’t optional when you’re responsible for animals who depend on you to keep them safe.

We cannot do this without help.

If you can donate $5, $10, $20 or anything at all, please do. Small donations add up quickly when enough people come together.

If you cannot donate, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST. A share costs nothing and could put this in front of someone who can help.

🐷💕 PSSSST… GOT $5? 💕🐷

The adorable, very loved, appropriately spoiled residents of Ark Rescue have an important announcement…

✨ IT’S $5 FRIDAY! ✨

The idea is super simple:

💵 You toss $5 in the Ark piggy bank.
🌾 We turn those little $5 gifts into feed, hay and everyday care.
🐷 They continue living their best spoiled-rotten lives.

Everybody wins. 😂❤️

Five dollars might not seem like much on its own, but when a whole bunch of animal-loving people come together, those little $5 donations turn into something BIG.

🐷 Happy snorts.
🐴 Full hay nets.
🐐 Bouncy little goat shenanigans.
🐓 Chickens doing… whatever chickens do. 😂
❤️ And a whole lot of happy bellies.

So if you’ve got an extra $5 today, toss it in the piggy bank for the Ark crew! 🐷💰

Dear Ark Family,

I’ve stared at this blank screen for hours.

I’ve written this post over and over again, and every single time I ended up deleting it because I couldn’t see the words through my tears.

I honestly never thought I would have to write this.

Yesterday, my sweet Ellie Jae began a new chapter and went to live with her daddy, David.

If you’ve followed Ark Rescue for any length of time, then you already know… Ellie Jae was never “just another rescue.”

She is my little girl.

She has been my shadow, my comfort, my biggest source of laughter, and the heart and soul of this sanctuary. She has been there on some of my hardest days, somehow always finding a way to remind me that joy can exist even in the middle of pain.

The truth is… I always imagined that one day I would have to tell all of you that we had lost Ellie Jae to old age.

I never imagined I would have to tell you she was leaving.

That has been one of the hardest realities I’ve ever had to accept.

If you’ve watched her journey over the years, then you’ve also watched the beautiful bond she and David built together. He has loved her with his whole heart and cared for her every single day. She absolutely adores her daddy.

And because I love Ellie Jae more than words could ever express…

…I couldn’t ask her to lose someone she loves that deeply.

I’ve always promised all of you that every decision I make for our animals will be based on what is best for them, even if it breaks my own heart.

This was one of those decisions.

I won’t pretend I’m okay.

The sanctuary feels different today.

Quieter.

I keep catching myself looking toward her little house.

I keep expecting to hear her little boot scoots coming to greet me.

I still find myself walking in her direction before I remember she’s not there.

It’s amazing how one tiny little pig could fill such a huge space.

Not just in this sanctuary…

…but in my heart.

I miss her more than I can ever put into words.

But somewhere underneath all of this heartbreak is peace.

Because I know she is with someone who loves her just as fiercely as I do.

This isn’t goodbye.

David isn’t far away, and I will continue visiting Ellie Jae, loving on her, spoiling her, and sharing updates, photos, and videos with all of you. Her journey isn’t over, and neither is ours.

I also want to ask something of everyone who loves Ellie Jae.

Please choose kindness.

Please choose grace.

Please don’t let this become something that divides people or creates hurt. There is already enough sadness without adding anger to it.

I sincerely wish David nothing but the very best in this next chapter. Thank you for loving our special girl so completely. She couldn’t ask for a better daddy.

I also want everyone to know that Ark Rescue isn’t going anywhere.

We are not closing.

We are not giving away our animals.

We are not slowing down.

If anything, this experience has reminded me exactly why this mission matters.

Our purpose remains the same today as it was yesterday—to fight for the forgotten, love the broken, and give every animal who comes through our gates the life they deserve.

This transition does bring new challenges. With David no longer living on the property, Ark Rescue has also lost the income he contributed toward caring for the sanctuary. Like so many nonprofits, we’ll feel that loss, and we’ll need our community now more than ever. If you’ve ever wanted to help, whether through a donation, volunteering, sharing our mission, or simply praying for us, your support will help us continue caring for the animals who still call Ark home.

To every single person who has laughed with Ellie Jae, cried with her, prayed for her, rooted for her, and loved her…

Thank you.

You didn’t just watch her story.

You became part of it.

Ellie Jae will always be my little girl.

She will always be the Queen of Positivity.

She will always be the heart of Ark Rescue.

And no amount of distance will ever change that.

If you know Ellie Jae, then you know she’d never want us to stay in our sadness.

She’d want us to keep smiling.

To keep believing.

To keep loving.

To keep moving forward.

Because that’s exactly what she’s spent her whole life teaching us.

The sanctuary may be a little quieter today…

…but her love will forever echo through these gates.

With all my love,

Lindsey 💙

Step through our gates and you'll feel it – the unmistakable love and warmth. We long to share this feeling with everyone, hoping it inspires support to help more animals in need. Every mind changed, every animal helped, is a victory.
