Chelsea and Sophia spent Thursday morning reviewing our upcoming POA with Mr. Ballard and Mrs. Sackrider! The officer team is super excited for the events for the upcoming school year! Thank you Mr. Ballard and Mrs. Sackrider for meeting with us over summer break to gain approval on all of these events!

FFA officers Chelsea Moinet and Sophia Hagerman recently delivered a presentation on the St. Johns FFA Program of Activities for the upcoming year!
When asked about their favorite part of being in FFA:
Chelsea: "Getting to be a part of an organization that pushes me to get out of my comfort zone, gain new qualities, and meet new people."
Sophia: "Getting to meet everyone and being immersed in the community."

Fun fact - The first year that women were allowed in FFA was 1969. St. Johns now has a female advisor (Mrs. Buggia) and these two female officers!

Today, Hudson Smith competed in Michigan FFA Tractor Driving Contest - Zero Turn! He competed against students from all over the state and had to complete a Pre-Op Check, Safety and Operational Test, and a Course to demonstrate skill!

Hudson was named State Winner and received first in the Contest! Congratulations Hudson! We are so proud of all your hardwork and dedication!

CONGRATULATIONS to our Horse Judging team that took 1st in the State and will go on to compete at Nationals in October and represent the State of Michigan!!

Today students (left to right) Haley Huffman, Laeken Blank, Kate Hipps and Isabelle Zischke competed in Horse Judging at the Michigan State University - Farm Bureau Pavilion! Congratulations to these girls for learning to do and doing to learn!

Just a few photos of labs ✨lately✨

Students in Vet Science have spent the last week learning suturing techniques and demonstrated their knowledge today for a test grade! Tomorrow they will put their knowledge of injections to the test in a injections lab!

Students in Plants and Wildlife earlier this year planted all of our hanging baskets! Tomorrow they will finish their fishing lure lab where they designed and made fishing lures based on the specific species they are hoping to catch!

Congratulations to Sophia Hagerman on being elected to represent Region IV as the 2026-2027 Secretary! Sophia will be serving along with students from Perry, New Lothrop, Owosso, and Laingsburg schools. We are so excited for her year of service!
