Dance A Thon 2019! May 18...6:00-Midnight. Charities are: Peter's Sunny Day Foundation and National Relief Network.

"Peter’s Sunny Day Foundation was created by the family and friends of Peter Kurncz IV to honor his legacy by supporting the families of children bravely fighting cancer. The mission of the foundation is to create more ‘Sunny Days’ for the families with more time spent making precious memories and less time spent dealing with worries and stress. The foundation works to offer reprieve from the demands of everyday life for parents while giving the children much needed distractions from their battle with cancer in the form of gifts and special experiences."

The National Relief Network is an organization committed to bringing large numbers of student volunteers to state and federally declared disaster areas for the purpose of helping families in their efforts to rebuild their homes, their communities and their lives.
Through our program, we have been able to and will continue to introduce volunteerism to thousands of teens and adults who will make volunteering a part of their lifestyles for decades to come.

TEENS DANCE FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T dance-a-thon is an annual event in which over 130 high school teens from our local community set out to raise awareness and monetary donations for a given charity. This year the teens have decided on two charities: The Compassion Club and Housing Services of Mid Michigan.
The Compassion Club was founded to unite youth in efforts to educate and spread compassion throughout schools and within the community. The club provides the youth with a sense of belonging and love for those around them. They meet monthly and perform acts of service, kindness and compassion. They want “the inside of every school to have a happy, safe and healthy feeling for all youth”. Another of their goals is to bring awareness to tough subjects of social media, anxiety, bullying and the pressures of teens today. They also hope to finish their elementary curriculum this year and implement it to the elementary schools this fall.
Housing Services of Mid Michigan is a non-profit, grant funded agency which provides, among other things, homelessness assistance, supportive housing to the chronically homeless, and homelessness prevention services through a variety of programs. Their mission is “to assist low to moderate income individuals and families fulfill their need for affordable, safe, and sanitary housing through the participation in federal, state, and local programs and services. Through coordination of such programs, and local providers, Housing Services of Mid Michigan will strive to provide a ‘continuum of care’ approach to better serve the diverse needs of program participants and encourage their economic self-sufficiency”.

This year's dance a thon will be held for ALS and our local St Vincent DePaul. ALS has claimed another of our community members and we want to support them and the ALS of Michigan to find a cure for this horrible disease.
Our St Vincent thrift store helps out so many people in our community with so many different things. From paying rent to electric bills to buying work boots for someone who was starting a new job and couldn't afford them to helping victims of homelessness and everything in between. Our local St Vincent's is truly a helping hand to so many in need. That's why the teens have chosen these two charities to raise money for. If you'd like to donate please let me know and I will have one of our teen teams contact you.
