CMHP is a non-profit, regional Community Housing Development Organization committed to assisting underserved communities to preserve, improve and increase affordable housing for low and moderate income families and individuals. . Soon after incorporation, CMHP received its 501(c)(3) designation. In February 1994, CMHP was designated as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) by the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. The organization was created with the goals of preserving, improving and increasing the affordable housing stock in Central Minnesota. These goals have been achieved over the years through a variety of innovative programs and services offering affordable housing to low and moderate income households and we continue to strive to achieve the same goals today that were set from the start. Our service area includes 16 counties in Central Minnesota: These counties include Aitkin, Benton, Carlton, Cass, Chisago, Crow Wing, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Pine, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd, Wright and Wadena. We provide a variety of services including affordable rental housing, affordable homeownership opportunities, rental housing rehab programs, homebuyer education and counseling and planning and development.
