Cards for a Cure! What an incredible example of teamwork making a difference!

A heartfelt thank you to the Willmar High School Volleyball and Football teams for their generous donation of $3,025 to the Willmar Cancer Center – Cancer Care. Through their hard work, dedication and commitment to giving back, these student-athletes are helping support local patients and families facing cancer.

Your generosity demonstrates the power of community and the impact young people can have when they come together for a meaningful cause. Thank you for making a difference and helping bring hope and healing close to home.

"From the get-go, the Gorecki Guest House was a godsend."

That's how Christina Barnes describes being able to stay at the Guest House while her 29-year-old son, Tyler Schreck, was hospitalized at St. Cloud Hospital after he was struck by a car as a pedestrian in Staples, MN.

The Gorecki Guest House, named after benefactors Benedict and Dorothy Gorecki opened in 2009 and has 28 guest rooms to serve families of patients receiving care in the St. Cloud area.

The guest house relies on donations to offset operating costs and to keep room rates affordable. If you would like to join our family of support, donate online or call CentraCare Foundation at 320-240-2810. You also may support the guest house through a donation of gift cards or household goods, such as beverages, individual serving items, and paper and cleaning products.

As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're proud to share a message from a grateful patient whose recent gift will help support others facing a breast cancer diagnosis.

"This past February, I underwent a lumpectomy for breast cancer. This was followed by radiation treatments at the Coborn Cancer Center. My husband and I found the whole experience to be an easier one because the office staff, doctors and nurses were so kind and encouraging, always reassuring us when we were there."

This note is a powerful reminder that healing involves more than treatment alone. Compassion, encouragement, and human connection matter deeply. Thank you to our care teams for making a difficult journey a little easier, and thank you to donors whose generosity helps ensure patients continue to receive exceptional care close to home.
