Join us in celebrating Cynthia, LifeSTEPS Program Coordinator at Crenshaw Family Apartments! Cynthia has created a vibrant, supportive environment where both parents and children feel connected and engaged.

Through creative learning activities, hands on educational projects, and thoughtful communication with parents, she’s built a program where youth feel excited to show up — and it shows. Participation and enthusiasm in her after school program continue to grow, reflecting her dedication and experience working with school aged children.

LifeSTEPS hosted a successful pet wellness clinic this weekend at Estuary 1 and Linnet Corner in Alameda, in partnership with Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS). The clinic provided vaccinations, flea and tick treatment, and microchipping for over 50 local residents and their pets.

We are grateful to Emily Crum, Animal Control Officer for Alameda County, for attending and supporting our community outreach efforts.

Will* was referred to LifeSTEPS by his care provider, L.A. Care Health Plan, while living at a treatment facility. With support from his LifeSTEPS Care Manager through CalAIM’s whole‑person approach, he secured essential documents like his California ID, Social Security card, and birth certificate. He soon gained employment at the VA hospital, purchased a vehicle, and is now preparing to search for permanent housing.

After losing her roommate unexpectedly, Agnes* feared she’d lose her home at Casa Manana. With rent and bills suddenly on one income, she turned to LifeSTEPS for support.

During , we’re celebrating stories like hers, stories of stability made possible through compassionate services.

LifeSTEPS Director of Social Services Lilly helped Agnes create a workable budget, access emergency assistance for essentials, and connect with mental health support. With steady guidance, Agnes’ rent was adjusted to reflect her new situation, helping her remain housed and regain hope.

“LifeSTEPS helped me save my apartment, which is my security,” Agnes shares.
Affordable housing isn’t just about a place to live, it’s about the stability every person deserves.
