🐾❤️ NIKKO IS GOING HOME! ❤️🐾

Our sweet Nikko from McFarland Shelter has endured so much. First, he was attacked by a large dog, suffering puncture wounds, and then he was hit by a car, leaving him with a serious open fracture of his femur. 💔

Thanks to the incredible Dr. Le and Dr. Khurmi, Nikko underwent a successful, complicated orthopedic surgery. His wounds and fractured leg were repaired, and antibiotic kerrier beads were placed to help prevent infection.

❤️ From Neglect to Living Their Best Lives! ❤️🐾

Today, Ellie, Pearl, and Theo are safe, loved, and resting in the loving arms of Divya Thompson. 🥰

After everything these precious souls have endured, they are finally learning what it means to be loved, protected, and cared for.

Sweet Theo breaks our hearts a little more. 💔 He is still hand-shy, withdrawn, and learning that human hands are meant to comfort, not hurt.

But every day brings a little progress. ❤️

And today, Theo allows Divya to pick him up and hold him! 🥹❤️ Something so simple to us is an enormous milestone for a dog who has known fear and neglect.

Healing doesn’t happen overnight. It takes patience, consistency, kindness, and unconditional love.

Ellie, Pearl, and Theo may have spent years being neglected, but those days are behind them now.

They went from being forgotten to being cherished. From surviving to finally living. 🐾❤️

And that, right there, is why we rescue.

🙏 Please understand why 4ever Yours Rescue cannot accept large dogs.

It is not because we don’t love big dogs. We absolutely do. ❤️

The rescue president was severely mauled by a large dog while attempting to break up a dog fight. That incident left her permanently disabled and with lasting trauma. Because of those injuries, intervening safely if a fight occurs—and physically managing larger dogs—is simply no longer something we can responsibly take on.

We also do not currently have fosters equipped to safely house and manage large dogs.

One of the most important responsibilities in rescue is knowing our limits. We have to be honest about what we can safely handle, how many animals we can properly care for, and whether we can provide each dog with the quality of life and attention they deserve.

Saying “we can’t take this dog” does not mean we don’t care. Sometimes saying no is the most responsible decision a rescue can make.

We will continue helping the dogs we are properly equipped to help, while supporting and cheering on the rescues and fosters who are able to take the big ones. 🐾❤️

Thank you for respecting our limitations and understanding that responsible rescue also means knowing when to say no.

Echo is a 1½-year-old Frenchie mix weighing approximately 40 pounds. She is a fun, affectionate girl with a playful personality and plenty of love to give.

Echo came into rescue after her previous family was no longer able to keep her due to a move. She is now fully vetted and ready to find a committed forever home where she can settle in and become part of the family.

Echo does well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. She is crate trained and leash trained and would be a wonderful companion for an active household that enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, camping, playtime, and plenty of snuggles at the end of the day.

She is affectionate, engaging, and loves being close to her people. Because of her size, energy, and play style, Echo is looking for a home without young children.

Bruh is a 2–3-year-old, 14-pound sweetheart who came to 4ever Yours Rescue needing an FHO surgery. He’s been through surgery, recovery, and lots of TLC—and now this little guy is healed and ready for a family of his own! 🎉

Bruh is a calm, sweet boy who gets along well with other dogs. He’s easygoing, loving, and ready to leave his medical journey behind and start his happily-ever-after.

Bruh has already overcome the hard part. Now he just needs someone to choose him. ❤️
