Today our hearts are heavy.

Momma dog made it through surgery, but sadly, both of her babies were gone. According to the vet, she had been in labor for days. Days of pain. Days of suffering. Days of needing help that never came.

By the time she was brought to us, it was too late for her puppies — but thank God it was not too late for her.

We are so grateful to Maroa Track Pet Hospital in Fresno for performing her emergency C-section and saving her life. She is now on her way to be under Divya’s loving care, where she will finally be safe, loved, and given the care she always deserved.

This is why we beg people to spay and neuter your pets.

Please do not put animals in a position where they become pregnant, suffer complications, and then get dumped because care is too expensive. They feel pain. They feel fear. They depend on humans to make responsible choices for them.

Today, this momma lost her babies.

But she did not lose her life.

And from this moment forward, her life changes 4ever🐾 Thank you Jeremy for this urgent transport.

Rita had a very big day today. 💔🐾

She underwent full mouth extractions and also had the stitches removed from her front leg amputation. Her dental work will need to be done in two parts because her little mouth was in such heartbreaking condition. Her teeth were so badly rotten, and we can only imagine how much pain she had been carrying for so long.

But today, Rita was not alone.

A heartfelt thank you to Fur Angel Blanketeers for the beautiful blanket made just for her. Rita was wrapped in it throughout her procedure — wrapped not only in warmth, but in blessings, comfort, and love.

For dogs like Rita, these blankets are more than just fabric. They are a reminder that someone cares. That they matter. That their pain has been seen, and that their healing is surrounded by kindness.

Thank you for loving our medical dogs from afar and for helping Rita feel safe during such a difficult day. ❤️🐾

Please keep our sweet Rita in your thoughts as she continues healing and learning this new chapter of her life.

For context, a couple of the fospice dogs are going for dentals soon so that's what I was referring to. This video should explain why I do all the cooking usually and not my husband Joel 😆😆

Appy joins our 4ever Yours Rescue family from Bradshaw Shelter. 💔

This tiny 1-year-old sweetheart weighs only 4.8 pounds. At an age where she should be full of energy, life, and puppy-like joy, Appy came in underweight and fragile enough that shelter staff were deeply concerned for her.

Her bloodwork shows elevated liver values and low platelets, so right now we are taking things one step at a time. She has started on good nutrition, supportive care, and Denamarin, and we are praying her next blood test shows her little body is beginning to heal.

Appy was also terribly matted, especially around her little paws. The same day we took her in Celeste stepped up and groomed her at 8:45 PM so Appy did not have to wait another night uncomfortable and tangled. Wentz Workshop opened its doors for one of the special cases we take, and we are so very grateful for that kindness.

But despite everything she has been through, Appy is nothing but love.

She is gentle. She is sweet. She is trusting. She is the kind of little dog who makes you wonder how something so tiny can carry so much heart.

This is why we do what we do. We take the ones who need more than just a place to land. We take the ones who need medical care, patience, nourishment, grooming, and someone willing to fight for them.

Happy Sunday ❤️
Today, we are taking in a very special dog from Stockton AC.

This Frenchie has clearly been through far too much. She was used for breeding, then left on the streets to roam. Sadly, she is not a stranger to Animal Control.

This time, luck was finally on her side. Her owner did not want to pay the fines, and now she gets a chance at the life she should have had all along.

Just looking at her condition says it all. Her body tells the story of neglect, overbreeding, and being failed by the humans who were supposed to protect her.

She will be seen by our vet tomorrow, and we are going to do everything we can to help her heal, feel safe, and become a completely different dog.

Her name was Kylie, but today we are changing it to Carly, after someone very special whose birthday is today. A new name for a new life. 💜

A huge thank you to Jerry Zavada for making this urgent run. Jerry, thank you for always stepping up when these dogs need you most.

Foster Fail Alert 🚨
We regret to inform you that Xander is officially adopted. He was being fostered by our wonderful team member Lisa and it was supposed to be temporary… but clearly they both missed the memo.
Somewhere between “just a few days” and “okay, one more cuddle,” he filed for permanent residency in her arms and refuses to vacate the premises.
Applications for adoption are now closed.
Reason: She has been emotionally outmaneuvered by a 10-pound snuggle bandit. Congratulations Lisa and Gary on your new furry family member 🐾💙
