✈️🐾 STRAIGHT OUTTA SELMA SHELTER… WE BRING YOU BRUH! 🐾✈️

Today, 2-year-old Bruh took his freedom flight with Pilots N Paws. ❤️ Thank you Pilot Jason.

Bruh was facing euthanasia if rescue didn’t come through. Cheryl Davies reached out to us, and of course… we said YES.

His initial diagnosis was believed to be a perineal hernia, but after being examined by Dr. Griffiths, we learned Bruh actually needs an FHO (femoral head ostectomy).

And there’s no wasting time — Bruh is having surgery TOMORROW. 🙏

Cleo is only 1½ years old… but she has already spent far too much of her young life waiting. 💔

She watches other dogs come into the rescue, find their families, and leave. And somehow, Cleo is still here. Still waiting. Still hoping someone finally chooses her.

We don’t understand why.

Cleo is playful, spunky, affectionate and absolutely full of personality. She’s leash trained, potty trained and crate trained. She loves hard, plays hard, and yes… she even sings. 🎶 Her funny little voice always makes us smile.

But lately, her story doesn’t feel quite as funny.

Because behind that silly personality is a little dog who deserves to know what it feels like to truly belong to someone. Not another night at the rescue. Not another month watching other dogs go home.

Cleo doesn’t need perfection.

She just needs someone to finally look at her and say, “You’re coming home with me.” ❤️

🦷🚨 LET’S TALK DENTALS… BECAUSE WE NEED TO SAY THIS LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK.

We see this ALL THE TIME on adoption applications:

“My dog has never had a dental, but I brush their teeth.”

That’s wonderful. 👏 Seriously. Keep brushing.

BUT… brushing your dog’s teeth does NOT replace a professional dental. Period.

You can brush twice a day, sing them a song while doing it, buy the fanciest toothbrush on the internet and use chicken-flavored toothpaste…

You still cannot brush away an abscessed tooth.
You cannot brush away a fractured tooth.
You cannot clean underneath the gumline.
You cannot diagnose infection or painful dental disease hiding where you can’t see it.

And no — “they eat just fine” does NOT mean their mouth doesn’t hurt. Dogs are incredibly good at hiding pain.

We cannot tell you how many rescue dogs come to us supposedly “fine,” go under anesthesia for a dental, and we discover rotten, fractured, loose or infected teeth that have probably been hurting them for YEARS.

🦷 BRUSHING = MAINTENANCE.
🦷 A DENTAL = MEDICAL CARE.

There is a difference.

Dental disease isn’t just about bad breath or ugly teeth. Untreated periodontal disease means inflammation, infection and chronic pain, and it can have effects beyond the mouth.

Yes, dentals can be expensive.

So are vaccines. So are emergencies. So are surgeries. So is owning a dog.

When you bring an animal into your family, their healthcare becomes your responsibility — and their teeth are part of their body.

This is also why we encourage adopters to seriously consider pet insurance and/or maintain an emergency veterinary fund.

At 4ever Yours Rescue, we don’t spend thousands of dollars getting these dogs healthy just to pretend their teeth don’t count.

So please…

BRUSH THEIR TEETH. 👏
AND GET THE DENTAL WHEN YOUR VETERINARIAN RECOMMENDS IT. 👏

Your dog’s toothbrush is preventative care.

It is not a dentist.

Hello, darlings. Jolene here.
6½ years young, Yorkie, professional lap warmer, and apparently still accepting applications for my forever staff. 👑🐾

I’ve already been through TWO homes, through no fault of my own. Frankly, that’s two too many. I am a Yorkie, not a timeshare. 😂

A few things you should know:

💋 I am extremely loving.
👑 Your lap belongs to me now.
🐶 I like other dogs… but occasionally I may need to remind them whose human you are.
🦷 My dental is done and I’m fully vetted.
💇‍♀️ My hair requires maintenance. Beauty has a budget, honey.
🏡 I’m looking for stability. No more bouncing around—I’ve retired from the touring life.

I don’t need a mansion in Tennessee, but I DO require a comfortable lap, regular grooming appointments, snacks, affection, and the level of devotion appropriate for a woman named Jolene.

🐾 OUR PILOT CLINIC WAS A SUCCESS! 🐾

Yesterday, we vaccinated and microchipped around 30 dogs! 💉🐶 Each dog also received a checkup, and families were informed of any health concerns that may need follow-up.

A HUGE thank you to Veterinary Urgent Care and Surgery Center for hosting us! ❤️

Special thanks to Dr. Khurmi, RVT Jose Ibarra, Kirsten, Kalani & Baylor for providing such wonderful care.
