We are so grateful!

Last week, our community showed up in a big way for the Big Day of Giving. More than 100 (!!!) of you came together to raise nearly $23,000 (!!!!!!_ to support our community of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities working toward competitive integrated employment.

This incredible generosity directly fuels our mission. It provides the hands-on job training, independent living skills, and social-emotional support that create pathways to achievement and independence. Every dollar helps further build our community where everyone has the opportunity to grow and succeed.

Community is about showing up for each other. That’s why Team ABLED is so proud to participate in the Big Day of Service again this year!

This time, we’re honored to partner with Daycation of Fair Oaks. Our team will be putting their skills to work building raised garden planters, installing pavers, and cleaning windows to create a beautiful, accessible space for the older adults who participate in their programs.

This project is empowerment in action. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our participants to contribute their talents and support another vital part of our community. We believe everyone has something valuable to give.

Want to join the effort? We’re looking for community members to join our team for the day! You can also help the new garden beds flourish by donating soil or plants. Send us a message to get involved and make a difference, together!

There's a special pride that comes from making a space beautiful with your own hands, and that's a feeling our team knows well.

At ABLED, landscaping is more than just a job -- it's a professional skill. Our team is building expertise in everything, from weeding and trimming to planting and landscape design. These are valuable skills they can use at home, in their communities, and in future employment.

This is what our mission looks like in action: providing hands-on training that builds independence and creates opportunity. We're not just beautifying a space; we're supporting the growth of skilled, confident individuals ready to contribute their talents to the world.

Your support helps our club members build skills, demonstrate leadership, and contribute to the community. We hope you’ll stop by to get a great car wash and cheer them on!

What: The Aktion Club of ABLED's First Community Car Wash of the Season
When: Friday, May 8, 2026 from 10am-2pm
Where: ABLED HQ parking lot (8894 Greenback Lane, Orangevale CA 95662)
Why: All proceeds support the inspiring athletes of Special Olympics Northern California.

The journey to entrepreneurship starts with an idea, a skill, and the right tools. At ABLED, we're thrilled to see all three coming together in our new creative workshop!

Our clients are getting hands-on experience with our new xTool direct-to-film printer and heat press. They are mastering the technology and learning the process of creating high-quality, customized t-shirts. This is a powerful step in building the skills needed to launch their own creative businesses.

This is what our mission of empowerment and independence looks like in action. We provide the tools and support, but it's the talent, creativity, and dedication of our clients that brings this project to life. They are not just making shirts; they are building pathways to financial independence and future success.

Every great day at ABLED HQ starts with a moment of inspiration, thanks to our friend and community leader, Jonathon.

The whiteboard is the first stop for many of us. It's there that Jonathon shares his "Deep Thoughts": a daily dose of wisdom to spark conversation and encourage his peers. Whether it's his own insight or a favorite quote, his leadership sets a positive tone for everyone.

This is what our mission of empowerment and inclusion looks like in action. It's about creating a space where every person's voice can be heard, and their contributions are celebrated. Jonathon took the initiative to build this daily ritual, and our entire community is stronger because of it.

What does real-world job training and achievement look like? It looks like the incredible work our team is doing every day at Goodwill Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada!

This week, their skill and dedication were on full display. The team sorted, prepped, and loaded 10 full z-racks with clothing! That’s over 1,000 items ready for the sales floor! This kind of work requires focus, teamwork, and a commitment to getting the job done right.

At ABLED, our mission is to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they build careers and gain independence. Seeing our participants thrive as valued members of the Goodwill team is what it's all about.

That's why we're so excited to celebrate Israel! He recently started attending ABLED, and his passion for being outdoors and helping our grounds look beautiful is an inspiration to us all.

Creating pathways to fulfilling employment is at the heart of what we do. Our mission is to provide the support and hands-on training that empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their goals and build greater independence.
