📊 May Impact Report

As we wrapped up another school year, River Valley Food 4 Kids continued providing food assistance to local children and families across the River Valley.

🥕 Our Pantry Program served 462 children and 213 families before concluding on May 21. The Pantry Program operates annually from Labor Day through Memorial Day, helping families throughout the school year.

🎒 Our Backpack Program provided weekend food assistance to 815 children in 18 schools during May. While several Pope County schools did not have to make up snow days this year, allowing the program to end a little earlier than usual, we were grateful to finish the year serving hundreds of local students.

💙 We are especially thankful for our dedicated Backpack Program volunteers who delivered food to schools each week throughout the year. As we shifted into summer programming, volunteer teams from Dollar General and Shiloh Creek Apartments helped prepare our warehouse for the busy weeks ahead.

With our Summer Food 4 Kids program now underway, we are preparing to serve more than 1,200 children each week across the River Valley.

Week 2 distributions will take place on June 16-17. Please remember that families must pick up at the site where they registered so we can ensure enough food is available at each location.

🥕 A Quick Reminder about our Summer Food 4 Kids Program 🥕

RVF4K Summer Food 4 Kids Program and summer feeding programs offered through local school districts are COMPLETELY SEPARATE PROGRAMS. These are independent programs that share the goal of helping children access food when school is out.

While we greatly appreciate our partnerships with area schools through the School Backpack Program in Pope County and their help in sharing our program information with families, RVF4K is a 100% community-supported nonprofit and is not funded or operated by any school district. We rely entirely on the support of donors, businesses, churches, civic groups, foundations, and volunteers. 💙

🍅 Families are welcome to participate in both the RVF4K Summer Food 4 Kids Program and any summer meal programs offered through their local school district. Enrollment in one program does not affect eligibility for the other.

✅ Online registration ends at 7 PM today.
✅ Our Atkins and Johnson County sites are now FULL and CLOSED to new registrations.
✅ Paper registrations will only be accepted if space is available at the selected distribution site.
