Join the Cherokee County Historical Commission as we celebrate our 9th annual Flag Day event.
It will be from 2:00 to 3:00 on Sunday, the 14th at the stage in Hazel Tilton Park.
This year the title of this event is Honoring the Flag and Discovering Our Revolutionary War Ancestors.
Several residents will share their ancestor’s stories. There will be multiple singers and special music.

The Cherokee County Historical Commission recently hosted El Camino Real de los Tejas National Trail Association Annual Meeting. A reception was held on Thursday April 30 at the Cherokee County Historical Commission office in Rusk. A collection of Water color paintings of Caddo Indian and Native American life by artist LT Claude McCrocklen was displayed.
Thursday May 1 the Annual Meeting was held at A. Frank Methodist Church in Alto.
Friday May 2 the group took a tour of the Courthouse, Caddo Mounds and Lobanillo Swales.

A Historic Marker for Euclid Lodge N. 45 was dedicated on Friday January 23 by the Cherokee County Historical Commission. The Lodge is celebrating its 177th Anniversary.
This Historic Marker will stand a a testament to our commitment to preserving our History for future generations. We are ensuring the legacy of this significant place will be remembered for years to come.
