Phase 1 of 4 of the Save Silva School project, repair and re-shingle the roof, is underway at the Prairie Village Museum.

This wonderful piece of history opened its doors in 1916. Approximately 860 students received some or all of their education in the Silva School until closing in 1970. In 1978 the building was moved to its current location here at the museum.

🚗🌿 The 2026 Dwight Jelsing Memorial Car Show & Rhubarb Festival at Prairie Village Museum was a tremendous success!

A special thank you to the Jelsing Ladies for their hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication in helping make this event possible. Thanks to everyone who participated, we were thrilled to set a new record with more than 80 car entries!

We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with these wonderful daughters of Dwight and Mary and to celebrate our community together.

Thank you to all the exhibitors, rhubarb treat makers, volunteers, sponsors, and visitors who made the day one to remember. We can't wait to see you again next year!
