Hey VROC Family! I'm reaching out on behalf of one of our Vietnam veterans who is facing a challenge many of us take for granted.
Due to mobility issues and very narrow doorways in his home, he is struggling to do simple daily tasks like carrying a plate of food from his kitchen to his dining room table. Unfortunately, he often drops his meals before making it to the table, leaving him frustrated and discouraged. He is also having difficulty getting into his bathroom because traditional walkers are simply too wide for his home's doorways. To make things even more complicated he is also his wife's caretaker and is struggling to take her meals and often drops them due to his regular walker being too wide and no place to set the plates while navigating through the doorways.
We are searching for a narrow rollator walker (20" wide or less) or a narrow 3-wheeled rollator, which may be easier to maneuver through tight spaces. The seat would allow him to safely transport his meals and provide a place to sit as he navigates the narrow areas of his home. Even a gently used one would be a tremendous blessing.
If you have a narrow rollator tucked away in a garage, closet, storage unit, or know someone who does, we would be incredibly grateful for your help. A donated rollator would make a tremendous difference in this veteran's daily life and help restore some of his independence and dignity.
Please comment below, send us a private message, or contact the VROC if you can help.
Thank you for continuing to show our veterans that they are supported, valued, and never forgotten. β€οΈπ€ππΊπΈ
