A LOT of REALLY GOOD QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS about the proposed millage rate increase are coming up. PLEASE plan to attend at least one of the upcoming meetings.

Millage Rate Update: Upcoming Meetings

Recently, Mayor Mary Robichaux announced a proposed millage rate increase (property tax rate) for 2026. The proposed rate is tentative and will be formally voted on by City Council on September 28, 2026. In the meantime, there are several opportunities for residents to learn more, ask questions, and share your thoughts. We encourage you to take part in whichever works best for you.

Here's how you can stay informed and get involved:

📅Mon, Sept. 14, 7:00 p.m. — First Reading at City Council Meeting
City Hall, 38 Hill Street
Millage rate presented as an agenda item, with staff presentation and public comment (five minutes per speaker).

📅Wed, Sept. 16, 6:00–7:30 p.m. — Town Hall
Eagles Nest Church, 2342 Holcomb Bridge Rd.
Brief presentation and public Q & A session dedicated to the millage rate.

📅Mon, Sept. 21, 6:00 p.m. — Public Hearing
City Hall, 38 Hill Street
State-mandated public hearing with opportunity for public comment.

📅Mon, Sept. 28, 7:00 p.m. — Second Reading and Adoption at City Council Meeting
City Hall, 38 Hill Street

We cannot keep passing the buck.

DEFERRED COSTS- meant to be paid for by monetized parking all over the city- must be taken care of. We cannot keep falling behind.

The prior administration intended to monetize parking throughout our city- including on public streets, at city hall, and at the parking deck (for which residents *already* paid). Residents loudly voiced disagreement for this plan.

So here we are. We need to pay the piper. We cannot continue to kick the can down the road.

Roswell is amazing. We need to keep it that way.

Also Mary for Roswell, from a responsible development and transparency standpoint, it would be great if the city would honor its original promise to use TSPLOST dollars to bury utilities at Gateway- even if just the highway 9 portion. Get another quote on the costs before taking Georgia Power and GDOT at their word.

PSA- update to the recent Wes Nile announcement-

⚠️ PUBLIC HEALTH UPDATE AS OF 12:15PM:

Following the positive West Nile virus mosquito trap results at Roswell Area Park and Garrard Landing Park, the Fulton County Board of Health (FCBOH) has advised that a positive mosquito sample alone does not require a park closure. At this time, FCBOH is not recommending closure of either park.

Both parks remain open, and scheduled Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs (RPHCA) programs and activities will continue as planned.

Mosquito Treatment – The County’s mosquito control contractor, Vector Disease Control International (VDCI), conducted treatment on Sept. 1, with a second treatment scheduled for tonight, Sept. 2, beginning at 9 p.m., weather permitting. Treatment occurs within a quarter-mile radius of the positive mosquito trap locations and lasts approximately one hour.

The Fulton County Board of Health recommends that residents and park visitors take precautions to help protect themselves from mosquito bites:

• Use an EPA-registered insect repellent when outdoors.
• Wear long sleeves and pants when practical.
• Take additional precautions around dawn and dusk, when mosquito activity is typically highest.
• Eliminate standing water around your home that can serve as a mosquito breeding area.

Informational signage regarding mosquito activity and prevention will remain posted at the affected park locations while treatment and monitoring continue.

The Fulton County Board of Health will continue monitoring mosquito surveillance results and will provide additional recommendations if West Nile virus activity increases or the public health risk changes.

Another Steak House coming to Canton Street- Hal's Steakhouse!

Excited to fill the space but worry that we have too many restaurants and not enough retail/other to provide the draw necessary to bring daytime visitors to the area.

A l'il close to Little Alley, but hopefully, they'll both survive.

Great news! TSPLOST dollars make a significant difference in our ability to grow and strengthen our infrastrucutre.

We will be watching more closely to ensure our TSPLOST dollars are applied as promised.
