Peoples Food Sovereignty Program will be starting voter registration next week.

If you or your family needs to get registered to vote or register for an absentee ballot we will be hitting doors and can schedule a meet up any where on the rez.

With the attacks on our tribal communities and our right to vote, it will be up to us to ensure our family, friends, and community are accounted for and participating in this year's midterm election.

Thank You!

Want to grow food for the community? Come join Seedlings 4 Solidarity this growing season!

As many of you already know, we are a local mutual aid organization fighting to help everyday folks grow their own food. Through free plant starts, education, and more, we give people the tools they need to feed themselves. Better yet, we have some events and opportunities to get involved coming up! Come check out any of the following:

Community Potlucks!
Come share some food, feel things out, and get to know all the people who are a part of the group! New members are highly encouraged to come. Bring some food if you can, but please come say hi either way!

These potlucks will be held on Thursday, February 26, from 6-8pm, and Sunday, March 8, from 12-2pm! Both potlucks will be held in the Home Resource Community Room on the NE corner of the building, located on 1515 Wyoming Street.

Greenhouse Work Days!
Come grow some plants in our lil greenhouse space! No experience is required. Any level of expertise is super welcome! We absolutely love teaching budding gardeners what we know, and will host a mini orientation at the beginning of each work day!

Starting on 3/1/26, our regular greenhouse work days will be every Thursday from 6-8pm, and every Sunday from 12-2pm! Greenhouse days will be held at the ECOR Greenhouse. Dm us here, email us at [email protected], or check our earlier posts for directions or any other questions!

DISCLAIMER: our greenhouse days are NOT distribution days! We would hate for anyone to show up when we have no seedlings to offer, and it *has* happened before, so just a heads up/clarification!

This week Peoples Food Sovereignty Program traveled to Minneapolis to provide food to the Mni Owe Sni camp as the cold resettled in.

The area, currently designated as a Traditionally Cultural Place under the National Park Service, has been utilized by Dakota Tribes since time immemorial.

There is a long history of the Dakota being pushed out of Minnesota during the Dakota Wars of 1862.
Dakota Tribes were displaced on reservations that stretch from outside the Twin Cities to eastern North Dakota and South Dakota.

The area is home to a natural spring and has been a place where the tribes would gather for ceremony.

Thank you to Vince Patton and South High School in Minneapolis for the space to cook.

It was an honor to provide some warmth and nutrition for the camp as they take on the extreme cold.

PeoplesFoodSovereigntyProgram would like to thank Community Change for our action group meeting this past week. We appreciate your attention to building healthcare access in some of our most rural and low income communities in the country.

We look forward to continuing the fight to bridge the gap for our communities of color.
