On Thursday, April 23, 2026, the Rome Twigs gathered for their biannual dinner at the Polish Home of Rome, bringing together 97 members representing all 11 branches for an evening of fellowship, recognition, and updates on the organization’s continued impact.
President Stacey Davis called the meeting to order, followed by remarks from AnneMarie Czyz, President and CEO of Rome Health, who shared recent progress and achievements of the hospital.
During the meeting, President Davis announced the extension of her presidency for an additional year, with Vice President Diane Butcher continuing in her role for the upcoming term.
A moment of silence was held to honor 11 Twig members who have passed since the October 2025 dinner. Those remembered included Anne Pike (Pine), Jean Benner (Bittersweet), Deanne Martin (Mimosa), Cheryl Kegley (Rosewood), DeLores Badolato (Rosewood), Florence Barnett (Rosewood), Nancy Pallas (Bittersweet), Alma Cable (Rosewood), Gail Baker, Elizabeth Gratch (Balsam), and Loretta Giambona (Sequoia).
Members were also recognized for their outstanding volunteer contributions, with several individuals reaching the remarkable milestone of 9,000 service hours.
Special recognition was given to the Twig Gift Shop and manager Martha Burke for their resilience during ongoing construction and for achieving an upward trend in sales.
Looking ahead, the Twigs announced their upcoming Open House, scheduled for May 20, 2026, at Copper City Brewing Company. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., the event invites members of the public to learn more about Twig, connect with current members, join an existing branch, or explore starting a new one. Each branch will be represented, offering a welcoming, networking-style environment. The evening will continue with Copper City’s Bingo at 7:00 p.m., featuring prizes.
Additionally, Juniper Twig shared plans to collaborate with Copper City Fitness to sponsor a 5K run/walk along Bellamy Harbor on Saturday, August 8.
The Rome Twigs continue to play a vital role in supporting Rome Health through volunteerism, fundraising, and community engagement, carrying forward a legacy of service that spans more than a century.
