Rohnert Park Cub Scouts Pack 1

Rohnert Park Cub Scouts Pack 1 In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. WHAT DO CUB SCOUTS DO?

Cub Scouts learn age-appropriate skills in:
• Character
• Citizenship
• Leadership
• Fitness
Cubs Scouts is fun for the whole family! Den Meetings and Pack Meetings

In den meetings and pack meetings, Cub Scouts make new friends, play purposeful games, and learn new things. Dens usually meet two times a month, except for lion dens, who meet once a month. All the dens in the pack come together once

a month for a pack meeting, where scouts are recognized for their achievements and have the opportunity to perform skits and songs. Message for information if you would like to visit! Outdoor Adventures

Cub Scout families have opportunities to go camping and to participate in outdoor adventures. Lessons learned in the outdoors help to develop a lifelong respect for the environment. Special Den and Pack Events

Packs and dens can put together special events and activities such as banquets, races, and community service projects.

Scouting America Military Family Fee Waiver

Effective June 1, 2026, Scouting America is expanding access to Scouting for military-connected youth by waiving the $85 national youth registration fee for eligible families. This program applies to youth members only and is available for both new and renewing online registrations. The initiative is funded nationally through philanthropic efforts.

Eligible families include those with current service in the Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard. The waiver covers only the national youth registration fee, reducing the $85 cost to $0 after the required verification and discount code process is completed. Local council fees, unit dues, optional add-ons such as Scout Life magazine, and processing fees may still apply.

To receive the waiver, families should select “Get Military Discount Code” during the online registration process, complete the verification steps, receive the verification code, and enter it at checkout. Once the code is applied, the national registration fee is reduced to $0.

Scouting America notes that the $85 fee may initially appear during checkout but will be removed after the verification code is entered. The waiver is available only for online registrations.

Tonight was Blue and Gold, our annual celebration to honor the founding of Cub Scouts. Many Scouts earned awards and many earned rank! We said farewell to our AOLs tonight as they crossed the bridge and joined Scouts BSA. They led their last Flag Ceremony and performed their last skit as Cub Scouts. Troop 4 Cotati made an appearance to welcome their new Scouts, and they performed a skit too!
Congratulations to ALL our Scouts but especially our AOLs as they head off onto their next adventures!

Last week, Den 4 began their Webelos My Community Adventure. They learned about majority vs plurality voting and had a vote on who should be the assistant cubmaster. They each nominated a candidate (we also talked about what it means to be nominated) and then votes were cast. We looked at the results and interpreted them using both methods - Grandpa Bulleri won if we used plurality, but none of the mandates won if we went by majority.

School Board Trustee Wing also came and talked to the scouts about how the trustees are elected and what her experience running has been like. She shared some of the rules governing campaigning and engaged them by asking how they would get their name out there with those rules.

Sadly, we didn't get any pictures of the den meeting, but tonight the scouts were invited to lead the Pledge at the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District school board meeting.

*Fun fact: Michelle was an active volunteer in Pack 1 for many years, and has been with Troop 4 since her cub scout crossed over to troop level.
