Nicole's House

Nicole's House Transitional Housing for Women coming out of addiction. Nicole's House is a mandate given by God to Sandra Warmack in 2017. Volunteers and donors needed.

A Christ-centered residential recovery program helping women pursue lasting recovery, healing, stability, and healthy independence while building lives of hope and purpose. It is birthed out of the death of her daughter, Nicole, who died in July 2012 from an accidental drug overdose. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization. This one year program offers six areas of education and support: Recovery,

Faith, Support System, Self- Care, Life Skills and Career Plan. God is at the core of all that we teach, and demonstrate. Our residents participate in the housekeeping, cooking and other chores. They attend the church of their choice, actively attend a faith based recovery program, receive one on one case management and counseling. They obtain a sponsor and are assigned at least one mentor. We are totally dependent upon the generosity of our community. Call 479-372-6122 or go to our website to see a list of volunteer opportunities and/or how you can give..

🌟 **Sponsor Spotlight: Ashlyn Powellof Powell Performance** 🌟

We are grateful to recognize Ashlyn Powell, owner of Powell Performance, for graciously sponsoring one of the women featured in this year’s Portraits of Recovery.

Ashlyn is a strength and wellness coach who primarily works with women, helping them develop lasting strength—both inside and outside the gym. Through personalized coaching, she creates a welcoming, judgment-free environment where women can grow in confidence, recognize their capabilities, and feel supported. Ashlyn coaches through Powell Performance at Jim's Gym, a private boutique gym in Fayetteville, as well as online and through hybrid programs.

In addition to her work in health and wellness, Ashlyn is a GIS professional serving Northwest Arkansas. Her dedication to strengthening women and investing in our community is beautifully reflected in her support of Portraits of Recovery.

Thank you, Ashlyn, for standing beside women in recovery and helping us share stories of courage, dignity, and hope. Your generosity reminds each woman that her life, her recovery, and her story matter.

Please join us in thanking Ashlyn Powell and Powell Performance for helping make Portraits of Recovery possible!

If you are interested in sponsoring this year we would love to hear from you! [email protected]

In Arkansas, 70.5% of adults who needed substance-use treatment did not receive it.

Behind that statistic are real people—women with names, families, gifts, struggles, and stories still being written. Recovery is possible, but no one should have to pursue it alone.

During National Recovery Month, we invite you to Portraits of Recovery, an opportunity to meet courageous women, hear their stories, and see the hope and dignity that statistics alone cannot capture.

Arkansas Fact: In 2024, 416 Arkansans lost their lives to a drug overdose.

Behind every number is a person deeply loved by God—a daughter, mother, sister, friend, or neighbor. During National Recovery Month, we remember those we have lost, support those still struggling, and celebrate every woman courageously rebuilding her life.

Recovery is possible, and no one should have to pursue it alone. At Nicole’s House, we are committed to providing women with a safe, Christ-centered community where hope can take root and lives can be restored.

💜🏡 National Recovery Month |

Nicole’s House 🏡💜

September is National Recovery Month, and at Nicole’s House, we celebrate the incredible courage of every woman who has chosen the path of recovery.
We believe recovery is not only about breaking free from addiction—it is about discovering that God’s grace is greater than our past, His love is deeper than our pain, and His plans for our lives are greater than we could ever imagine.
There are women who walk through our doors feeling broken, ashamed, lost, or uncertain about what tomorrow holds. But God sees something different.
He sees His daughter. He sees her worth. He sees her purpose. He sees the life that can still be rebuilt.

At Nicole’s House, we have the privilege of witnessing God work in the lives of women as they take one courageous step at a time toward healing and restoration. We witness tears become testimony, brokenness become strength, and hopelessness become hope.

Recovery is not always easy. There are hard days, setbacks, fears, and moments when giving up can feel easier than moving forward. But we believe God does some of His greatest work in the places where we feel the weakest.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3

This Recovery Month, we celebrate every woman who continues to choose recovery. We honor the families who pray, encourage, forgive, and stand beside their loved ones. And we are grateful for every person who helps create a community where women can heal, grow, and become the women God created them to be.

To every woman in recovery: Your past is not your identity. Your mistakes are not the end of your story. You are loved. You are worthy. You are not forgotten. And God is not finished with you yet. đź’ś

May this month remind us that there is redemption after brokenness, purpose after pain, and hope after hopelessness.

At Nicole’s House, we don’t just believe in second chances.
We believe in the God who makes all things new. ✝️💜

Tuesday, September 15th from 4-6 PM. Come celebrate what recovery looks like for our women.

What does recovery really look like?

This September, we invite you to come and see for yourself at Portraits of Recovery.

Portraits of Recovery isn’t simply an event where you look at photographs or read stories on a wall. The women behind these stories will be there.

Throughout the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to walk through visual representations of individual recovery journeys—and, more importantly, to meet and talk with the courageous women who have lived them.

You’ll see where their stories began, some of what they have overcome, and where their lives are taking them today.

Addiction can make it easy for the world to see a label before it sees a person. Portraits of Recovery invites us to see the woman first.

A daughter. A mother. A friend. A woman created in the image of God. A woman with a past, a present, dreams for her future, and a story worth hearing.

These aren’t statistics.

They are women from our community who have walked through incredibly difficult places and are choosing, one day at a time, to build something different.

Come meet them. Hear their stories. Ask questions. Celebrate their progress. And leave with a deeper understanding of what recovery can look like when a woman is surrounded by faith, opportunity, accountability, community, and hope.

Recovery is more than what someone has overcome. It is who she is becoming.

We hope you’ll join us for Portraits of Recovery this September 15th at McCauley Hall from 4-6 pm and experience these stories for yourself. 💜

Portraits of Recovery is more than an event. It is a chance to see recovery through the eyes of the women living it.

The women of Nicole’s House will stand beside visual representations of their journeys—sharing pieces of where they have been, what they have walked through, and how their lives are being rebuilt with courage, faith, accountability, and hope.

These are not stories defined by addiction. They are stories of women reclaiming their lives, rebuilding relationships, discovering purpose, and learning to believe that a different future is possible.

Recovery can be hard to understand from the outside. Portraits of Recovery gives our community the opportunity to see the person behind the struggle, hear the story behind the transformation, and celebrate the strength it takes to keep moving forward.

We invite you to come, listen, witness, and honor these women and the work they are doing.

Because recovery deserves to be seen.
Because every story matters.
And because hope is worth celebrating.

When we hear that someone is in recovery, we often look for the most obvious sign that things are getting better. She stopped using. She is sober. She made it through another day.

But there is something I wish more people understood about recovery. Stopping the substance is not the same thing as rebuilding the life.

Addiction rarely stays in one corner of a woman's life. Over time, it can affect relationships, finances, employment, parenting, physical and emotional health, and the ability to trust herself and others. For many women, addiction is also tangled together with trauma, grief, unhealthy relationships, or years spent simply trying to survive.

When we hear that someone is in recovery, we often look for the most obvious sign that things are getting better. She stopped using. She is sober. She made it through another day.And that matters tremendously. But there is something I wish more people understood about recovery. Stopping the substance...

Meet Ben Fernandez , Vice President of the Nicole’s House Board of Directors!

Ben has faithfully served on the Nicole’s House Board for a little over a year and currently serves as our Vice President.

Ben is a Christ follower, husband, father, grandfather, and longtime Northwest Arkansas resident who has called Springdale home for more than 20 years. Professionally, he serves as an Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager with Regions Bank.

Ben became involved with Nicole’s House because he wanted to give back to his community, but he quickly discovered that serving here would impact him as much as he hoped to impact others.

“Watching women in recovery regain hope, rebuild their lives, and achieve freedom from addiction is truly inspiring. It has been a privilege to witness their journeys and to be part of an organization that makes such a meaningful impact on our community.”

Ben attends Trinity Fellowship Church in Fayetteville, and when he isn’t working or serving, you’ll often find him spending time with his family or enjoying a little time fishing.

We are grateful for Ben’s heart for our mission, his leadership, and the time he gives to Nicole’s House. Please help us thank Ben for serving the women of Nicole’s House and our Northwest Arkansas community!
