Casey's Place Massachusetts Helping children/teens navigate their grief of losing a parent/guardian by creating a community of peers and volunteers. The services are free.

Casey’s Place brings together kids and teens grieving the loss of a parent or guardian in a compassionate, supportive environment. A child who has lost a parent often feels isolated and misunderstood. At Casey’s Place, we offer monthly Saturday gatherings in a free, safe environment, where grieving kids between the ages of seven and seventeen can feel more supported and less alone. It is our hope

Let's get real about grief and talk for a minute. Has anyone had their grief compared to another's grief? How did it make you feel? Is it really a competition? Personally, when my mom died, my grandmother said to me that she had lost her only daughter, to which I replied I lost my only mother. Then volunteering, there was a debate between two moms about which is better: your spouse dying suddenly or after a long illness? I was mortified and shocked. Having experienced both ways, I say either way sucks equally, but for different reasons (both parents, not spouses). What are your thoughts? What is your story?
