Finding and keeping great talent is a top priority for many of our members, so we were glad to be at the table yesterday morning for the Workforce Priorities Roundtable at Bridgewater State University.

Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Lauren Jones and BSU President Fred Clark led a conversation on strengthening our workforce and expanding career opportunities.

The takeaway was clear: building a more inclusive, skilled, and accessible workforce takes collaboration between higher education, government, and employers.

Thank you to Bridgewater State University and President Fred Clark for hosting, to Secretary Lauren Jones for her leadership, and to the Boston Women’s Workforce Council for bringing everyone together. We were also glad to be joined by Evelyn Murphy, former Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts and Co-Chair of the Boston Women’s Workforce Council; Undersecretary of Labor Josh Cutler; and Hannah McKinney, Director of Strategic Engagement at the Boston Women’s Workforce Council.

Kerri’s great-great-grandfather, A.W. Perry’s founder, was a shoe manufacturer who saw new technology coming and knew his industry was about to change.
