Two years have passed, yet the impact of the tragedy at the Brooklands splash pad remains etched in our minds.

Today, we want to share that our thoughts are still firmly with everyone who was there that day. We know that the trauma of such an experience does not wholly disappear with the passage of time, and we continue to stand in unwavering solidarity with the survivors, their families, and all of those that were impacted by the events.

In the face of despicable evil, we saw neighbors rushing to aid the injured. We saw how our brothers and sisters, the Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies, and the multitude of firefighters and police officers from neighboring communities rushed to the scene to help. We saw the outpouring of support from the community in the days, months, and years that followed.

We are proud to serve this community, and our hearts will forever be with those impacted.

IT’S A BOY!

Your Rochester Hills Professional Fire Fighters were recently called for a woman in labor. While transporting the patient to the hospital, our crews helped deliver a healthy baby boy in the back of the ambulance.

Great job Lt. Wright, and Firefighter/Paramedics Jelsch and Terbrack!

Battalion Chief Birchmeier presented them with stork pins in recognition of their work.

Fun fact: Firefighter/Paramedics Jelsch and Terbrack helped deliver another baby a few years ago.

Ladder 2 is having a fun day helping the kids beat the heat at Deerfield Elementary for their annual carnival.

This week has been busy, as usual, with medical and fire responses, but a few more animal rescues also came up. On an unrelated call, a distressed baby bird was trapped and rescued, along with nine ducklings from two separate drains.

A-shift members are currently fighting a structure fire in the area of Auburn between Crooks and Adams.
