Let’s talk about Hazel. ❤️ Hazel’s story didn’t start easy.

She came from the streets of Marlin, where she survived litter after litter on her own. Her puppies would get picked up....and somehow, Hazel was always the one left behind.

But that’s not her story anymore.

Hazel came to us severely heartworm positive, critically malnourished, and caring for 7 tiny puppies all by herself. She was exhausted, physically and emotionally, but still the sweetest girl you could imagine.

Together, we helped her raise and wean her babies. Every puppy has now been vaccinated, microchipped, and placed with loving families where they are safe, spoiled, and thriving. (Spays and neuters are coming soon!)

Now it’s finally Hazel’s turn. ❤️

We’ve helped her gain healthy weight, got her fully vaccinated, spayed, began Doxy, and started giving her the care she’s deserved all along.

Now comes the hard part: Heartworm Treatment

And while we still have a long way to go financially, I have absolutely no doubt that Hazel’s Village will help us get there.

But here’s the thing....Hazel is an ANGEL.

She loves being here, but she’s also beginning to bond deeply with people again. And honestly, it would be so beautiful for her to spend this healing season bonding with her forever family.

So Hazel is looking for a foster-to-adopt home: a loving place where she can rest, recover, and learn what it feels like to truly belong while we cover the cost of her treatment. Once treatment is complete, so is the adoption process.

And trust me when I say....whoever gets Hazel is getting something special!

🐝 COMPLETELY potty trained (seriously… bladder of steel 😂)

🐝 A world-class cuddler
🐝 Quiet: she “talks” sometimes (which is hilarious), but I’ve honestly never heard her bark
🐝 Perfectly happy to lounge on the couch beside you or by herself all day
🐝 Dog and cat friendly (very curious about cats, but sweet!)
🐝 A little dancer 💃
🐝 Very obedient with great recall

Hazel has spent her whole life surviving.
We would really love for the next chapter of her life to simply be… loved ❤️

🚨 Pet Circle Regional Animal Center is currently operating at around 150%+ capacity. And they desperately need our help. 🚨

Just last week, we pulled sweet Zori from the shelter.
Today? She has a family of her own. ❤️

Fostering changes everything. It gives dogs the chance to decompress, feel safe, and show their true personalities outside of a stressful shelter environment. It allows families to see who these animals really are: in a home, around people, around other pets, just being themselves.

Honestly, Zori may very well still be sitting behind kennel doors if she hadn’t been given the chance to SHINE in a calmer environment.

WELCOME HOME, ZORI (now Sophie)! ❤️

We are SO incredibly happy for you, sweet girl! We truly couldn’t have asked for a better mama for you, and we are so excited for this next chapter for both of you.

And y’all… when I say Zori fell in love with Carla FAST — I mean FAST. By the time Carla was leaving, Zori had already forgotten I existed and was ready to head home with her new mama. 😂

Sophie hung out with us for a few hours while Carla took care of some errands, and the second she came back through the door, Sophie basically said, “LET’S GOOOOO, MOM!” ❤️

And just like that… off they went to start their new life together. 🐝✨

*** Side note: if I pull a dog that is already vax and fixed (no cost to me outside of feeding), i dont charge my regular adoption fee, just a very small "make sure you're serious fee". After meeting Carla and learning the love she has for her babies - I said "NO adoption fee." So this sweet lady showed up with all kinds of supplies for Bee's Little Pet Pantry 😍 THANK YOU, CARLA! It was an absolute pleasure to meet you!

Dumping a dog is not “setting them free.”
In Texas, it is animal cruelty — and it is a CRIME.

Under Texas Penal Code Section 42.092, abandoning a dog can result in serious legal consequences:

🐝 Up to 1 year in jail
🐝 Fines up to $4,000 for a first offense
🐝 Repeat offenses can become a State Jail Felony with penalties up to 2 years in jail and fines up to $10,000

And yes — people ARE being caught.

Many dumping areas are monitored with trail cameras, security cameras, and license plate readers. Witnesses are encouraged to report suspicious activity, vehicle descriptions, and plate numbers. Animal abandonment is taken seriously by law enforcement, animal control, and the community.

But beyond the legal consequences… let’s talk about the dogs.

💥Texas heat kills.
💥Starvation kills.
💥Traffic kills.
💥Wildlife attacks kill.

Dumped dogs are terrified, confused, and often spend their final moments waiting for the family that left them behind. Even when they are rescued, the emotional trauma can last FOREVER!

If you cannot care for a dog, PLEASE choose a legal, safe, and humane option instead:

🐾 Contact your local shelter or animal control
🐾 Reach out to reputable rescue organizations
🐾 Use trusted rehoming groups to safely find the dog a new home
🐾 Ask for help BEFORE it becomes a crisis

In the Waco/Robinson area, resources may include:
• Pet Circle Regional Animal Center
• Humane Society of Central Texas
• PRG Rehoming Group and other trusted community rehoming networks

Look, I KNOW it's not always easy to find a solution - but there is ALWAYS a better option than dumping a dog. Please — be part of the solution, not the suffering. 🐝
