Auditions this weekend will be held by Linda Gerdes for “46 PLAYS FOR AMERICA’S FIRST LADIES” by Genevra Gallo-Bayiates, Sharon Greene, Chloe Johnston, Bilal Dardai and Andy Bayiates. We are looking for 5-10 (4-8 F and 1-2 M) versatile actors of all ages, ethnicities and genders who want to have fun and experiment during the rehearsal process.
Rehearsals will start the week of May 11th. Performances are scheduled for July 10-12 and July 17-19.
AUDITION INFORMATION:
Date & Time: Friday May 8 (7:00 p.m. -8:00); Saturday, May 9 (10:30-11:30)
Location: The New Weis Center for Education, Arts & Recreation - 150 Snake Den Road, Ringwood, NJ.
How to Prepare: If possible, please prepare 2 contrasting monologues. This is NOT required but encouraged. (Don’t stress if you don’t have one, come to audition anyway!) SHOW SYNOPSIS:
46 PLAYS FOR AMERICA’S FIRST LADIES leaps from comic to tragic as it surveys the lives of the women who have served (and avoided serving) as First Lady, from Martha Washington to Melania Trump. The play is an ensemble-driven, biographical "madcap" history lesson exploring the lives, duties, and political roles of U.S. First Ladies.
ROLES TO BE CAST:
Actors play multiple roles in a variety of diverse “plays” both musical and non-musical including monologues, rock songs and ballads, waltzes and other dances , puppet shows, mimes, tableaus, monologues and a stand-up routine.
