SOS……SOS……..SOS 24 HOUR FOSTER NEEDED!!!!!!
Ok, before I get to the SOS, let me tell you this dogs story , many of you are aware of Brody, but for those of you who don’t , let me start from the beginning , I rescued him when he was about 5 months old, sadly he was never adopted , but then he was adopted when he was a little over 1 yr old , adopter only had him a few days when he had to be rushed to emergency room for a severely bloated stomach , long story short, he was diagnosed with a rare disease called Chagas, which is transmitted from a bug called the kissing bug, we do not have them around here, Brody came from Texas, so contracted it there , and the disease had stayed dormant in him until after being in rescue almost a year , needless to say the adopter surrendered him back to the rescue , normally there was no cure for Chagas, however a vet in Texas found a cure , so Brody had to be put on meds for an entire year , in that year he never showed any further signs of illness, he seemed perfectly healthy and normal, so just recently he had to be all retested to see if the disease was out of his system, blood was sent to Texas , and Brody also had to have another Echocardiogram, on a good note I received the news today that Brody is now Chagas free, his blood came back negative for the disease , so we are ecstatic over that, however his echo test didn’t come back very good, the Disease has done damage to his heart , he has tachycardia, and literally could drop dead at any time , or not, so far he has been completely normal, plays with other dogs , no issues , soooo to the SOS PART, do get some more detailed information on his condition, Brody needs to water a heart monitor harness for 24 hours, and needs to be closely monitored for those 24 hours, a log needs to be kept, when he eating , when he is drinking , when he is sleeping, playing etc. so he needs to be in a home for this to happen, with a person with him for those 24 hours, we need this to happen asap!!!!
