Try this exercise: let as many hesitations and doubts in your life as you can disappear safely in the rearview mirror. Feel the invigorating hope that you’ve imagined pave the road ahead with possibility. You are now part of something bigger than yourself and together, we are changing the face of mental health in our community.

Traumatic events β€” such as a motor vehicle crash, assault, military combat or natural disasters β€” can have lasting effects on a person’s mental health.

While many people will have short term responses to life-threatening events, some will develop longer term symptoms that can lead to a diagnosis of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A diagnosis is only as good as the treatment it leads to. Whether or not you feel confident in your diagnosis, it’s important to reevaluate occasionally.

We were proud to represent Mississippi in Atlanta focusing on connection, community and caring β€” the heart of the theme.

What makes NAMICon special is not just what happens on stage β€” it’s what happens between sessions, in conversations, in community and in the moments where people realize they are not alone.

πŸ’™ Conversations about identity, belonging and what it means to show up fully β€” for ourselves and for each other.
πŸ’™ Centering lived experience, storytelling and the power of using your voice to create change.
πŸ’™ Pathways to where mental health advocacy, research, lived experience and community go from here.

We are strengthening the foundation of our work and look forward to in Washington, DC!

Call-takers, dispatchers, and emergency communications professionals play a vital role by connecting individuals to crisis lines and other behavioral health care services, rather than police services, and/or by providing CIT officers with the information needed for a safe, effective response.

We’re grateful to be equipping every link in the crisis continuum with better understanding. Thanks for having us, Gulfport!

Mississippi is #1 in the nation for 988 in-state call answer rate β€” and we're not slowing down.πŸ†

Our crisis centers answered 99% of in-state calls, outpacing every other state in the country. The average speed to answer? Just 1.3 seconds.

This didn't happen by accident. It's the result of dedicated staff across our crisis centers who show up every day to make sure no call goes unanswered. We are incredibly proud of the work being done for Mississippians in their most critical moments.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988. Help answers fast.
