We are thrilled to be wrapping-up our 2025-26 'Wellness Program' with Fitness, Healthy Eating, and Oral Health initiatives which included 15 classes, 383 participants at three partner schools. Special thanks to our subject-matter experts-Sara/Brick Bodies Fitness, Debbie/retired MedStar Nurse Educator, and University of Maryland School of Dentistry Division of Dental Hygiene students, along with chapter volunteers who were part of this effort. We are also grateful for the enhancing companion materials provided by Giant Food and University of Maryland School of Dentistry that children took home.

April was a notable month for Education and Literacy Programs at Armistead Gardens Elem/Middle and Walter P Carter, featuring monthly Book Buddy readings at both schools. A nurse educator presented a program on Healthy Eating to Pre-K students at these schools. Additionally, Pre-K students at WPC received valuable tips on oral health from students at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry Division of Dental Hygiene. While numerous memorable moments emerged from these programs, a Book Buddy highlighted the joy she experienced when a student approached her wanting to read from the selected book!
