June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental health matters for everyone, including men.

Too often, men feel pressure to stay silent about stress, anxiety, depression, grief, or personal struggles.

Strength is not about carrying every burden alone—it's about recognizing when support is needed and reaching out.

This month, let's encourage open conversations, reduce stigma, and remind the men in our lives that asking for help is a sign of courage, not weakness.

Check in on a friend. Listen without judgment. Share resources. Together, we can create a culture where every man feels supported, valued, and heard.

Had the privilege to attend Berkeley MO Police Department promotional ceremony this evening.

We are proud of the accomplishments of the officers that were not only promoted but to include those recognized for a job well done on several recent cases.

We are especially proud of one officer in particular and that is newly promoted Detective Sergeant Ryan Young as we have watched his career blossom across agencies and recovery from duty related injuries over the years.

May each of you excel in your new roles and continue to recieve and provide sound leadership.

What is PTSD?

PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) is a mental health condition that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening event, like combat, a natural disaster, a car accident, or sexual assault.

We prefer to change the verbiage to PTSI
(Post-Traumatic Stress Injury). PTSI is more accurate, hopeful and honorable.
We believe that the “injury model” and the injury name is correct from a medical and a public health standpoint.

The “D” in PTSD, the word, “disorder,” discourages some from seeking care, from revealing their condition and from feeling a sense of honor.

Sending our heartfelt condolences to the blue and blood family of Trooper Daniels of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

What is puzzling to all that knew him is that as of now, his pain was not seen and he did an impeccable job of hiding it.

This reminds us that we don't truly know the secret battles one is fighing camouflaged by their smile.

This also serves as a reminder that we must check on our strongest, happiest, most dependable and those who appear to have it all together.

Have the hard conversations, to tell people we love them, and to never underestimate the importance of mental health as it truly can be the difference between life and death.

His life mattered and his legacy will continue.

If you are anyone you know is in need of a listening ear or resources please reach out to us or any of the available First Responder resources. WE ARE HERE TO HELP!

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance, a day to reflect upon our countries Veterans who stood up, served and fought for the freedoms we enjoy everyday, like this Holiday today.

"The patriot's blood is the seed of Freedom's tree." -- Thomas Campbell, preacher during the Restoration Movement.

Did you know that the first "Memorial Day" was organized and held by former slaves in Charleston, S.C. in 1865 to honor Union troops who lost their lives in the Civil War and were buried nearby. It is a very interesting fact. If you aren't aware, take the time to learn about it.

Thank you to all of the men and woman who have given the ultimate sacrifice, their life!

It's National Police Week 2026!

This week holds deep significance for our fellow police officers, their families, and friends, as it has historically brought an emotional rollercoaster of reflection, remembrance, pride, and sacrifice.

This event runs from May 10–16, 2026, with major events in Washington, D.C., focusing on honoring law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Key events include the 38th Annual Candlelight Vigil on May 13 and the 45th Annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Service on May 15.

Today is International Firefighters’ Day (IFFD)!

This is a time where the world’s community can recognize and honor the sacrifices that firefighters make to ensure that our communities and environment are as safe as possible. It is also a day in which current and past firefighters can be thanked for their contributions.

We thank all firefighters for their extraordinary commitment, exceptional courage and for being selfless.
