🚨 WRE COMMUNITY WILDLIFE ALERT 🚨
Neighbors, a raccoon was spotted on my front porch in broad daylight this afternoon.

Daytime activity alone does not necessarily mean a raccoon is sick, but please use extra caution. Do not approach, feed, corner, or attempt to handle it.

Please keep a close eye on children and pets, secure trash cans and outdoor pet food, and stay alert while walking around the neighborhood.

If you see the raccoon, please comment with the approximate location and time of the sighting so we can determine whether it is continuing to move through the community.

If it appears disoriented, unusually aggressive, unable to walk normally, or visibly ill, keep your distance and contact Animal Control.

Happy Friday, Winding River Estates!

On Monday, our children will begin another year of their educational journey! 🎒📚

For many of us here in WRE, the school bus schedules, pickup times, and sometimes interesting stop locations have become routine. However, we have new neighbors who are navigating it for the first time.

If anyone has updated bus pickup/drop-off times and stop locations for all three schools, please share them here to help welcome and assist our new residents at 102 Farmington Dr.

Let’s help make their first school morning in WRE a little easier. Have a great weekend, and here’s to a safe and successful school year for all of our WRE students! 🚌🏫

🐈 Missing Cat - Winding River Estates 🐈

Please help us bring Slim home.

Slim is a 12-year-old black cat who has gone missing from Winding River Estates.

If you have seen Slim or have any information about his whereabouts, please contact Catherine at 130 Farmington Drive.

Even the smallest sighting could help. Please check around sheds, garages, crawl spaces, and under porches, as older cats often hide in quiet places when they’re scared. Thanks,

🚨 **Community Update: Farmington Drive Water Leak**

The Winding River Estates HOA spoke with ONWASA's Repair Department today regarding the underground water leak between **105 and 107 Farmington Drive**.

The repair that was previously scheduled has been **postponed**. ONWASA advised that all required utility locates were completed on Friday, and they are currently working to reschedule the repair. A new repair date has not yet been provided.

Please continue to:

* Drive carefully through the area.
* Keep children away from the area
* Take temporary safety measures.

There is **no impact to neighborhood water service** at this time.

We appreciate everyone's patience and will provide another update as soon as ONWASA announces the new repair date.

🚨 **Community Update: Underground Water Leak**

ONWASA has informed the Board that repairs to the underground water leak between **105 and 107 Farmington Drive** are **scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, 2026**.

Until the repair is completed, the affected area will remain coned off. Please continue to use caution when traveling through the area and keep children away from the work zone. While there is still **no impact to neighborhood water service**, the ground may remain unstable until repairs are finished.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and cooperation as we work with ONWASA to resolve the issue. We will share another update once repairs have been completed.

🚨 **Community Notice: Underground Water Leak**

Residents, ONWASA has been notified of an underground water leak in the roadway between **105 and 107 Farmington Drive**.

The Board of Directors has placed traffic cones around the affected area to help reduce traffic until repairs can be made. While there is **no disruption to water service at this time**, an underground leak can create unstable ground conditions.

Please:

* 🚗 Use caution when traveling through the area.
* 🚸 Keep children away from the coned-off section.
* 🚧 Do not move or drive through the traffic cones unless absolutely necessary.

At this time, ONWASA has not provided an estimated repair timeline. The Board will contact them first thing tomorrow morning for an update and will share any new information with the community as it becomes available.

Good morning, 910 Sanitation customers. Due to yesterday's landfill closure, all trash collection services are delayed by one day. Your scheduled pickup will take place tomorrow instead.

If your trash bins are full, please make sure the lids are securely closed or the containers are otherwise secured to help prevent animals from scavenging and creating a mess.

🇺🇸 **Happy 250th Independence Day, Winding River Estates!** 🇺🇸

From the Board of Directors, we wish each of you a safe and enjoyable Independence Day as our nation celebrates 250 years of freedom.

As you celebrate with family and friends, please remember that Winding River Estates follows Onslow County ordinances regarding fireworks and quiet hours. If you choose to use fireworks, do so safely, be mindful of fire and wind conditions, and if any debris lands on a neighbor's property, please take a moment to retrieve it. Being a good neighbor is something we can all celebrate.

For those looking for a larger celebration, be sure to check out the Freedom Festival hosted by Onslow County and Camp Lejeune.

Most importantly, let's remember the men and women, past and present, whose service has protected the freedoms we enjoy today. Regardless of our differences, we all share this community and the values that make good neighbors: respect, kindness, and looking out for one another.
