πŸ”₯ RCFD Fire Prevention Message – June Fire Safety πŸ”₯

As we head into summer, the Richland Center Fire Department would like to remind everyone to practice safe outdoor burning and grilling habits.

β˜€οΈ Summer Fire Safety Tips:
β€’ Never leave a grill unattended while cooking.
β€’ Keep grills at least 10 feet away from homes, decks, and other combustible materials.
β€’ Dispose of charcoal ashes in a metal container and allow them to cool completely.
β€’ Check local burning regulations before starting any outdoor fire.
β€’ Always have a water source, hose, or fire extinguisher nearby when burning.
β€’ Keep children and pets away from grills, campfires, and fire pits.
β€’ Fully extinguish campfires before leaving the area.

πŸš’ Remember: Dry grass, windy conditions, and unattended fires can quickly turn a small fire into a large emergency.

🚨 RCFD Open House – June 13 🚨

While you’re enjoying Rodeo Weekend, be sure to stop by the Richland Center Fire Department Open House on Saturday, June 13, immediately following the Rodeo Parade!

This is a great opportunity to:
βœ… Meet your local firefighters
βœ… Tour the fire station
βœ… See the fire trucks and equipment up close
βœ… Learn about fire prevention and fire safety
βœ… Ask questions about the department and volunteer opportunities

We look forward to seeing members of our community and sharing what we do to help keep the Richland Center Fire District safe.

The Richland Center Fire Department wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable June. Taking a few extra precautions can help prevent fires and protect your family, neighbors, and property.

Next up, let's take a look at our 2025 Vision Screening results.

In 2025, there were 203 MD27 Lions of Wisconsin Clubs who reported data for Vision Screening. This resulted in 122,470 children having their vision screened throughout Wisconsin, with 15,259 children being referred for additional follow-up with an eye health professional. In partnership with Shopko Optical's Kids in Focus program, 457 vouchers were distributed to help children in need obtain an eye exam and a pair of eyeglasses, if needed.

Thank you to all of the certified vision screeners from the Lions Clubs throughout the state for your service and dedication to vision screening!
