Our team of students design, manufacture, and test a formula style vehicle each year for the international Formula SAE competition. Dallas Formula Racing is a student-led organization at the University of Texas at Dallas. Students with a passion for automotive engineering have been actively participating since the team was founded in 2014. The variety of our projects offers many opportunities for
all students across campus. As a result, we have grown our team to become one of the largest multidisciplinary student organizations which encourage student collaboration between the schools of Arts and Technology, Management, and Engineering and Computer Science. We compete in the international Formula SAE competition hosted each year by the Society of Automotive Engineers. This competition challenges students to design, manufacture, and test the performance of a formula-style vehicle. By participating, undergraduate and graduate students get prepared for their future careers by gaining skills beyond engineering such as budgeting, communication, project management, resource management, fundraising, leadership, and teamwork skills.
