Let's bring more bicycle pedestrian infrastructure to southwest Georgia!

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is nearing completion of a RURAL STATEWIDE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN (ATP) designed to improve walking, biking, and other micromobility options—such as scooters and e-bikes—in Georgia’s small towns and rural communities. This plan will guide future investments and policy decisions to enhance safety, connectivity, comfort, mobility, and access for people using active transportation across rural areas of the state. Learn more: https://bit.ly/ruralatp

Pursuing the vision of "safe and well-connected walking and biking routes for all Georgians" and working to strengthen local economies and enhance community well-being, the Rural ATP is centered around six key goals: Safety, Connectivity, Economic Vitality, Public Health, Mobility, and Transportation for All.

The project team has conducted extensive data collection and analysis to establish a baseline of existing conditions and identify opportunities for improvement. GDOT is now seeking final public review and input on the draft plan.

Please provide feedback on proposed strategies and priorities at: https://gdotratp-vhb.hub.arcgis.com/pages/submit-feedback
