💜💜💜 Taylor County turned PURPLE today! 💜💜💜

This morning our club stood shoulder to shoulder with county officials and neighbors on the courthouse steps, where State Representative presented a Georgia House resolution honoring the Reynolds Woman's Club and recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month with today, October 15, proclaimed as the day Taylor County turns purple! 💜

Thank you to Mayor Fred Waller for opening us in prayer, to Mandy Robinson and Gail Lucas of our domestic violence awareness team, and to Sharon Harvey, who accepted the resolution on behalf of the club.

To every single person who showed up in purple — YOU are what makes this community shine. Together, we're breaking the silence. 💜🦋

💜 TURN TAYLOR COUNTY PURPLE — THIS THURSDAY 💜

This Thursday, October 15, the GFWC Reynolds Woman's Club invites all of Taylor County to wear purple for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

It's simple: WEAR PURPLE all day — at work, at school, at home, running errands. Every purple shirt, ribbon, and porch light says the same thing: our community stands with survivors and refuses to stay silent.

Wear Purple. Break the Silence. 💜

"She survived."
People love to celebrate the word survivor like the fight ends the day she walks out the door.
Awareness without truth is useless. A ribbon on a shirt means nothing if we pretend the damage disappears.
She survived, but she jumps when a door slams or a voice is raised. She shuts down when she gets yelled at. She is constantly scanning the room, over-observant, exhausted. She struggles to accept a compliment because she was trained to believe she had no worth. She constantly apologizes for simply taking up space.
Leaving isn't an overnight fix. It is an everyday war to rebuild a shattered nervous system while raising babies and trying to feel safe in your own skin.
October isn't about polite awareness. It is about breaking the silence in Taylor County for the women still living behind closed doors and standing by the ones who are still putting themselves back together.
And turning awareness into action by fighting for stronger laws and real protection.

This Thursday, October 15th, is Taylor County's Day of Purple. Wear purple. Put up your bow. Break the silence.

The GFWC Reynolds Woman’s Club is truly grateful to the Flint Energies Foundation for awarding our club a grant to help replace the aging air-conditioning system in our historic clubhouse.

Built in the 1840s, our clubhouse has stood through many generations, countless meetings, community projects, celebrations, and Georgia summers. Thanks to this generous support, we can continue preserving this treasured building while making it more comfortable for everyone who gathers there.

This grant was made possible through Operation Round Up®, where Flint Energies members round their monthly electric bills up to the nearest dollar. It may seem like a small amount, but together those contributions create a powerful impact across our community.

We are so thankful to Flint Energies, the Foundation board, and every participating member who helped make this possible.

After all, our clubhouse may be historic, but our air conditioning doesn’t need to feel historic too! 😄

Thank you for helping us protect the past, serve the present, and prepare for the future.
