The BSS offers it's membership a quarterly full color magazine, hosts an upland National field championship and a retriever National Championship every year the BSS also offers sanctioned BSS Upland Hunt Tests through out the US by various Boykin Spaniel Clubs. Health testing can give owners valuable information about their own Boykin, but the impact can go beyond one dog.

When eligible results are submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), they become part of the broader health information available for the breed. More complete data can help identify trends, support research, and inform healthier decisions for Boykins in the future.

“My Boykin will never be bred. Why should I health test?”

It’s a great question, and one we want every Boykin owner to understand. Health testing is about more than breeding decisions. It can give you useful information to discuss with your veterinarian and help you better understand your own dog’s health.

Your Boykin’s results can also contribute to the bigger picture. When eligible results are submitted to OFA, they add to the health information available about the breed and can help support research and better-informed decisions for future generations.

Whether your Boykin hunts, competes, or spends most of the day on the couch, their health information can matter.
