Project Warm Hugs

Project Warm Hugs We create warm hugs for children patients at local hospitals with our lovingly created fleece blankets. It has now become so much more.

Project Warm Hugs started as a way to simply keep children warm and comforted while they were in the hospital. We meet several times a year to assemble “no-sew” blankets that we distribute to local hospitals. It is our hope that these “Warm Hugs” will provide a sense of comfort and encourage the healing process to all children who receive one. Currently, we supply the Reedsburg Area Medical Center

, Mile Bluff Medical Center, SSM Health St. Clare Baraboo, Sauk Prairie Health Care, Divine Savior Portage, Gunderson Hospital, Hillsboro, and Richland Hospital with these special blankets. Everyone is welcome to come to one of our events. Whether you can bring blankets, tie blankets or provide support, we would love to have you join us. The RAMC Birth Center requested another delivery of love and warmth this week.
Our hope is that these infant car seat blankets will protect newborns against the elements. The blankets also function as changing table pads or tummy time blankets.

We received this precious story from a nurse today -So thankful our blankets make a difference for patients, parents and staff. 🥰
We had a sick little boy this weekend terrified of EVERYTHING. His mom told me he has had multiple medical visits that were pretty traumatizing. I gave him time, gave him choices and allowed him to help. I gave him a warm hug and he cooperated with every single thing I needed him to do. His mom said I've never seen him like this before. Then the sweet little guy told me I was the best doctor ever. Clearly, I didn't try to explain that I wasn't a doctor. But I knew offering him a warm hug made him feel safe with me. He was wrapped up in his warm hug walking out the door, snug as a bug, and this weekend I believe we changed his traumatizing experiences to good ones. 🩵

We received this touching thank you today! Volunteers and people who donate, this is to you!

Thank you for the sweetest warm hug for our seven year old son. It hasn't left his side and he said, "this is my special blanket Mom" and he has literally had it at his side nonstop. He said, "it really does feel like a warm hug Mommy."❤️
I cant thank you enough for everything you do.
