Our welcome back meeting tonight included a visit from our District Governor Rose Rodriguez, & visitors from other clubs including Selma, Hanford, Richgrove & Delano. We inducted 3 new Lion members: Lizbeth, Nora & Marcos and had an induction of our High School Leo board. We also celebrated 3 of our members with milestone anniversaries: Bev & Christie (Craig standing in for her) 15 years each & Wayne celebrating 45 years!! What accomplishments!! Everybody is back and ready to serve our community. We’re in planning mode for the next couple months with Walking for recovery, our fall clean-up, White Cane Day, King & Queen coronation & our next school Bike Rodeo. More to come with Reedley Lions - stay tuned!

Let’s Bring Scouting Back to Reedley! For generations, scouting has helped young people build confidence, leadership, resilience, friendships, and A love for the outdoors. It’s time for our community to bring this opportunity back for the next generation! Scouting America is open to both girls and boys ages 5 through 17, and we are looking for: Youth ready for adventure, Adult volunteers willing to help lead, & Community members who want to make a difference. Whether you’ve been a Scout before or are simply interested in learning more, we’d love to meet you. Tuesday August 11th, 6pm at the American Legion Hall 1128 E street Reedley (right by Fosters). It takes a community to build a great Scouting program and Reedley has a proud Scouting tradition. Troop 282 has been serving youth for 98 years, helping shape generations of leaders, citizens, and community members. Let’s continue this legacy!

Reedley, CA - The Reedley Lions Club is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Reedley Fiesta King and Queen. Nomination applications are available at the greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce, 1044 G St., and on the chambers website (by end of week) at www.reedleychamber.com/events. Applications may also be requested by emailing [email protected]. The 2026 Reedley Fiesta King and Queen will be crowned during the Reedley Fiesta opening ceremonies at Pioneer Park on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 6:45 PM. As official ambassadors of the Reedley Fiesta, they will help promote the event, represent the City of Reedley at community functions, and ride in the annual Fiesta parade. To nominate the Royal couple, submit a completed application that includes five reasons why the nominees deserve this honor. Nominees must have resided in the Reedley area for at least 15 years and have demonstrated outstanding involvement in civic and community affairs. The Reedley Lions Club will select this year‘s King and Queen from the submitted nominations. Completed nomination forms must be received no later than 5 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Applications may be submitted by mail to the Lions Club PO Box 41, Reedley, CA 93654 or by email to [email protected].

With temperatures soaring across the Central Valley, the need for bottled water has never been greater. The Poverello house is distributing hundreds of bottles of water every week and supplies are running low. The Reedley Lions Club is stepping up – and we’re asking our community to help. Donation drop off is scheduled for Thursday & Friday 7/16 & 7/17 5:30pm-8pm at Pioneer Park. These bottles are a critical part of The Poverello house’s outreach efforts and provide relief for many individuals who rely on the courtyard each day. If you’re unable to shop, we’re happy to help. We can pick up bottled water donations from your home (Wednesday 7/15 last day) or we accept monetary donations and we’ll purchase the water on your behalf - get in contact with one of your favorite Lions!
