We are heartbroken to share some very sad news from our Go Guatemala family.

Ceci, a faithful volunteer who began serving with Esperanza and continued serving after moving her children to Go Guatemala, tragically passed away last week after being struck by a motorcycle.

Ceci leaves behind her husband and three children, grandchildren (pictured above) along with a community that loved her deeply. Her funeral was held yesterday at Go Guatemala.

In moments like this, we are reminded that our partnership goes far beyond programs. It is about people, families, and walking alongside one another in both joy and unimaginable loss.

As we have done in times of need before, When I Grow Up will stand with Go Guatemala and Ceci’s family in the days ahead through prayer and financial support.

Please join us in praying for her husband, her children, and the entire Go Guatemala community as they grieve this heartbreaking loss.

Please pray for our team in Antigua, Guatemala. Today, while they were serving, Volcán de Fuego erupted.

Please pray for their safety, as ash in the air could disrupt their flights back to the U.S. Even more importantly, pray for the families living near the base of the volcano who are facing fear and uncertainty as they watch for possible lava flows and further eruptions.

Pray for God’s protection, peace, and strength for everyone affected.

Kids in every class led worship with joyful hearts as the team from LifePoint Church Nevada wrapped up an incredible week together. ❤️

The week ended with lots of play, even more hugs, and heartfelt goodbyes. We leave with full hearts, grateful for every moment and every child we had the privilege to know.

A routine procedure. One broken tooth. A $7,000 bill.

As frustrating as it was, it made me realize something…

I still had access to care.

In Huruma, Kenya, most families don’t have that option. Preventative healthcare is out of reach. Dental care is almost nonexistent. Many parents simply pray their children don’t get sick because treatment is too expensive.

That’s why Nurse Lydia and the Furaha Health Program matter so much. Every day they’re providing health checks, medication, nutrition support, therapy, and hope to children who otherwise wouldn’t receive it.

This isn’t charity.

It’s justice.

Where you live should not determine if you live.

If you’d like to be part of this story, we’d love your support. ❤️

Great people from LifePoint Church in Minden, NV, serving alongside GoGuatemala under the leadership of Pastor Alex and Jose Armas in Zone 18. Together, they’re bringing hope, loving children and families in the name of Jesus.

Grateful for churches and partners of WIGU that are living out the Gospel.

As costs continue to rise for all of us, the needs facing vulnerable children and families continue to grow too.

This summer, we are inviting 25 people to commit to giving $100/month to help provide meals, education, care, and hope through our trusted local partners.

If you already give monthly, would you consider increasing your support to $100/month? If you are new to supporting this work, we would love to invite you to join us.

Together, we can continue bringing hope and opportunity to children and communities who need it most.

If you already give, consider increasing to $100/month.

If you’re new, this is a powerful place to start.

Flooding has devastated parts of the community where our partners live from Furaha in the Huruma slum.

When disaster strikes in the slums, the least of these suffer the most.

Three families connected to Furaha have lost nearly everything.

The little boy in this video is Atara, one of Furaha’s students. He is being carried out of his home as his family fled the rising water. Nearly everything they owned was swept away.

They have been left with nothing.

This is why we ask you to stand with us.

When you give, you are not just sending aid — you are standing beside families in their most vulnerable moments and helping change the trajectory of their lives.

To our faithful donors, thank you. Because of you, the light of Christ reaches into some of the darkest places.

Helping Furaha through a monthly gift or a one time gift is the way we can help families who are faced with the daily challenges of living in extreme poverty. Give through the link in our bio.

The Furaha Junior Community School is now open.

This school represents opportunity, dignity, and hope for an entire community.

To help sustain this work, we are inviting 25 giving people to commit to $100/month. Your monthly support helps keep this school strong and allows life-changing programs to continue.

$100 a month has the power to transform lives and keep children on a path out of extreme poverty.

• New donors can begin their monthly giving through the link in our bio.
• Existing donors who would like to increase their impact by $100/month can email [email protected] to adjust their giving.

Be part of the story.
Together we can continue bringing hope and opportunity to these children.
